About the Position:
Customers are the lifeblood of our company and Qumulo is looking for a strategic, customer focused and results-driven Professional Services Engineer (PSE). PSE’s at Qumulo are responsible for delivering an amazing Day 1 experience for our customers. A PSE will coordinate and deliver customer on-boarding, installations, training and other professional services sold.
Responsibilities:
- Own the delivery of a broad range of professional services, including installations, training, and consulting to ensure customers get the most from their Qumulo deployment.
- Deliver deployments in both cloud and on-premises environments, leveraging infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation for cloud-based deployments to enable scalable, consistent customer outcomes.
- Requires strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Work with Customer Success Managers (CSMs) and Implementation Project Managers (IPMs) in the successful delivery of professional services. Requires impeccable preparation.
- Work with customers to coordinate customer on-boarding, installation, and training. This role will ensure that customers derive maximum value from their investments in Qumulo and are successful with their product. Requires strong attention to detail.
- Share guidance with customers on data center best practices as they relate to Qumulo solutions. Requires broad knowledge on a number of disciplines, combined with expertise in the Qumulo product.
- Accurate and detailed accounting of the PS engagement via trip reports.
- Contribute to the development of the Qumulo professional services practice by sharing and actively participating in retrospective reviews.
- Provide feedback to engineering and product teams on product gaps and areas of improvements.
Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of professional services or IT delivery experience
- 2–4 years of experience with IT infrastructure (storage, networking, servers, and cloud-based applications)
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation (CFN)
- Familiarity with Python scripting for task automation or tooling
- Ability to troubleshoot core cloud components such as EBS, S3, managed disks, storage accounts, NAT gateways, elastic load balancers (ELBs)
- Understanding of Linux package management systems (RPM and DEB)
- Strong communication skills, including written and verbal
- Strong problem solving skills with a can-do attitude
- Interpersonal skills that allow for successful interaction with all stakeholders
- Detail oriented and able to multitask and prioritize
- Experience in customer-facing roles
- Ability to solve problems independently while in the field
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must be able to lift fifty pounds regularly and repeatedly
- Ability to travel up to 20% for customer engagements, typically averaging 1 trip per month
Preferred Experience
- Working knowledge of scale-out file systems
- Solid experience configuring and troubleshooting networks using modern switch operating systems (Cisco, Arista, Mellanox)
- Familiarity with Linux & Windows operating systems
- Familiarity with Windows Active Directory
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a strong plus
The annual pay range for the role is USD $81,000 - $121,000. Individual pay depends on various factors, such as role level, relevant experience and skills, and location. Pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the pay range applicable at the time.
