Job Description: 

Product Owner - Food & Beverage

The Role

The Product Owner - Food & Beverage will be the point person for various internal projects within the Product team and is responsible for the planning, organization, quality assurance, and documentation leading up to and following product releases. This includes gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, managing the product throughout the product life cycle, and working closely with engineering to deliver winning products. It also includes working with sales, marketing, and support to ensure customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Owner represents the interests of all internal and external stakeholders and also ensures that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals.

The Product Owner - Food & Beverage will become an industry consultant for private club staff regarding Events, Dining, and Banquet software.  This role reports directly to Head of Product, manages 1-2 QA Analysts, and works closely with the Development team members.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the entire product development process, from ideation and design to testing and deployment.
  • Ensure that products are launched on time and within budget, and that they meet customer expectations.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to understand customer needs, competitive landscape, and emerging trends.
  • Classify features according to strategic goals and initiatives, ensuring that the product roadmap is focused on the most valuable areas.
  • Collaborate with engineering, marketing, sales, and other departments to ensure a cohesive and successful product launch and ongoing product management.
  • Participate actively in sprint planning meetings.
  • Create Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) with prioritized features and corresponding justifications.
  • Design wireframe mockups for enhancements and new product screens.
  • Manage QA Resources to ensure user expectations are met, bugs and product enhancements are addressed with perseverance and detail. 
  • Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products. Enlist, train, and collaborate with clients.
  • Write internal and external product release notes. Write agreement language and parameters for new products.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize products to ensure they remain competitive and meet evolving customer needs.
  • Represent the product at tradeshows, webinars, demos and occasional client site visits.
Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of Product Owner/Manager/Analyst experience
  • Familiarity with the private club industry
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate product vision, strategy, and progress to stakeholders. Comfortable leading webinar presentations.
  • Ability to understand and juggle the client and business needs
  • Ability to translate user and business requirements into the necessary level of detail
  • Proficiency in conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques
  • Bring evidence-based decision-making to your communication.
  • Be ruthless with prioritization while balancing the needs of customers and stakeholders.
  • Be able to say “no,” but explain why in terms that stakeholders understand.
  • Be transparent about your prioritization and roadmap process.
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical background, with experience in software product management
