General Description:

Reporting to the Head of Europe, the Senior Director Operations Hematology Europe is responsible for the overall P&L of the Hematology Franchise at European level. This role ensures the successful execution of the Global strategy by driving market expansion, enhancing product awareness, and increasing market share across European countries.

The Senior Director Operations Hematology Europe drives strategic brand promotion efforts, complements and implements tailored promotional activities - building on global branding and product positioning - where necessary, and leverage various channels to achieve sales targets.

This position will partner very closely with the Global product teams and requires strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and a deep understanding of the hematology landscape to optimize commercial performance across Europe.

Essential Functions of the job:

  • Provide strategic leadership for Hematology in Europe, overseeing commercial strategies, serving as the European commercial voice at global forums with a focus on early assets (GPT, Executive/Senior Leadership)

  • Oversee implementation and execution of Hematology strategies and launch planning in European markets, focusing on market share expansion and maximizing brand value.

  • Lead Europe Cross Functional and Cross -Regional Brand Team to support insight generation of brand drivers and barriers, assess performance, analyze market trends, competitive landscape, contribute to develop both proactive and responsive strategies/messages where there are identified gaps and deliver continued brand growth in Europe

  • Facilitate and Integrate input from market access, medical affairs, and major European markets to shape commercial feedback on CDP and TPP and disease area strategies across Heme Portfolio and represent this at Global Forums

  • Lead key annual process for European Brand Plan / tactics.  Support and coordinate the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long-Range Planning (LRP) processes

  • In partnership with Global Operations Business Analytics, analyze market research data and customer insights to identify growth opportunities and optimize marketing efforts in Europe

  • Oversee implementation and execution of lifecycle strategies in European markets and ensure integration of European input into global launch planning.

  • Execute Europe core content materials for Hematology (i.e., positioning, strategy, messaging, etc.).  Drive expectations for materials use and monitor adaptation.

  • Deliver, in collaboration with Global functions, on key European Congresses such as EHA, ICML, ESH etc. including congress strategy, booth design and development, booth content

  • Maintain strong relationships with both internal colleagues and external customers to address market opportunities.

  • Engage with European KOLs to refine commercial approach, and address barriers to adoption

Supervisory Responsibilities:  

  • Indirect leadership of the Country commercial franchise teams.

Experience Required:

  • At least 10 years of industry experience.
  • Experience with Hematology products.
  • Experience working at European level on a similar role, with a strong focus on operations.

Education Required:

Undergraduate degree required, MBA and/or post graduate preferred. 

Computer Skills:   PC, including MS Office Suite

Travel:  30-50%
