Job Description

Join our dynamic insurance defense legal team as a Counsel Support Associate. This highly interactive role requires daily client contact and serves as a vital bridge between our legal team, clients, courts, and opposing counsel. You'll provide essential administrative support to Client Legal Services Attorneys, helping to ensure smooth, timely, and professional legal proceedings. Ideal for those seeking hands-on experience in civil litigation, this opportunity offers a collaborative, mentorship-driven environment where strong communication and organizational skills are key.

Key Responsibilities
Client-Facing Communication: Engage with clients daily via phone and email. Maintain a professional and responsive communication flow, ensuring consistent updates and coordination throughout the case lifecycle.
Legal Document Management: Draft, enter, and manage certain pleadings, motions, trial documents, and legal correspondence using our case management system, ensuring data accuracy and maintaining appropriate document exchange with our clients and customers.

Scheduling & Calendar Management: Schedule depositions, hearings, and mediations. Maintain and track key litigation deadlines and ensure all team members and clients are informed of important dates and upcoming tasks administering efficient case lifecycle coordination.

Court Interaction & E-Filing: Submit legal documents through court e-filing systems and maintain compliance with filing and service procedures and deadlines. This position also requires occasional travel to various Courts, Post Offices and/or other case related entities.

Drafting & Documentation: Prepare professional written communications for clients and internal stakeholders. Attention to tone, clarity, and accuracy is essential.
Mail Processing: Handle all incoming and outgoing mail—both physical and electronic. Scan, route, and archive documents promptly to ensure timely information flow and proper record-keeping.
Administrative Support: Organize and manage digital files, perform data entry, and complete a variety of administrative tasks that support the legal team’s daily operations.
Compliance Monitoring: Use Team Connect Litigation Management System to maintain data accuracy and compliance with internal and external requirements.
Proactive Problem Solving: Take initiative in resolving administrative challenges, managing competing priorities, and contributing to overall team efficiency.

Qualifications
Experience: 0–3 years of legal administrative experience preferred; civil law or insurance defense background is highly beneficial.


Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is $18.65 - 29.54 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications.
