The Director, Technology Infrastructure & Implementation will leverage their skills and experience to manage the people, processes, web architecture, and technology that control the structure, information, delivery, and usage of information essential for Philanthropy’s success. The incumbent will develop, improve, and maintain Philanthropy’s technology strategy and architecture roadmap, while governing business processes and controls to support the growing business needs. Collaborating closely with the Philanthropy and Technology Group leadership and Philanthropy’s Donor Insights and Analytics team, the incumbent will contribute to the development, audit analysis and needs assessment of philanthropy’s technology roadmap and the broader organizational technology roadmap.
This role also leads innovative strategies to support CRC’s web development and contributes to Philanthropy’s data centered activities to facilitate the growth and optimization of CRC’s use of technology. They will leverage artificial intelligence as a tool for efficiencies, conversational understanding of predictive modeling input requirements, and maximizing revenue growth potential. This role will also lead the implementation of approved activities to enable teams to execute on data-backed recommendations and strengthen the department’s data governance framework.
In this role, you will :
Develop and communicate the technology strategy for the Philanthropy teams.
Develop and execute the learning and development strategy for technology and digital tools for Philanthropy teams in collaboration with the Senior Director, Philanthropy Marketing
Oversee organization’s website integrity, data management operations, databases and integrated technologies
Act as the Data Steward for Philanthropy within the Organizational Data Governance working groups and policies.
Provide operation and solution leadership, mentoring, and expertise to the team, leading the team through problem definition, issue identification and work plan development using problem solving principles and past experiences.
Collaborate with our TG group to help lead the development of the data standards and processes based on industry best practices ensuring that the concepts are communicated and accepted across the Organization
Oversee and provide leadership for technology architecture and department’s integration
Be the primary relationship manager for internal integrations, Philanthropy technology roadmap, and external vendor management
What we are looking for:
Minimum 8-10 years of job-related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in Data Analytics, Data Management, Information Management, or a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution
Background in Fundraising, Sales or Marketing is a preferred asset
Minimum of 8 years of familiarity with CRM or database systems, preferably systems supporting Philanthropy teams, responsibility for system troubleshooting, testing, configuration and maintenance.
Experience in Data Management, Data Integration, Data Transformation, Data Warehousing, ETL, Master Data Management.
Experience executing systems and processes that comply with relevant privacy legislation (PIPEDA, CASL, GDPR, PCI compliance, Donor Data Exchange)
High level of proficiency and accuracy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Fundraising Databases. (BBCRM experience an asset)
Experience as data manager, notably where support was provided to cross-functional business units within the organization. (e.g. risk, finance, operations, sales etc.)
Experience with CRM systems, knowledge of database architecture, and proficiency with SQL.
Experience with cloud computing platforms (Azure preferred), and knowledge of data engineering and ETL processes
Experience with Data Literacy programs, and implementing data-based decision-making systems
Proven track record of delivery of large-scale data-related projects.
Superior Analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex information and communicate it to a variety of audiences.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. (French an asset)
Ability to think big picture and apply an “enterprise-wide” mindset to strategy and implementation.
Create, align, and translate vision and strategies into concrete and cohesive plans that align daily work with vision and directions of the Philanthropy operational objectives
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, national environment with multiple conflicting demands, ambiguity, adapt quickly in changing circumstances and is comfortable with “managing in the grey”
Strong persuasion, negotiation, and consensus-building skills for communicating complex and sensitive ideas with strategically important groups.
Working Conditions:
Work will be primarily in a hybrid work arrangement.
Regular exposure to computer screens and keyboards while sitting at a desk for extended periods.
Occasional overtime, evening, or weekend work is required to meet project deadlines, support meetings/events, or meet operational needs such as disaster appeals
This position will require occasional travel to attend meetings/conferences, support operational needs, and respond to emergencies.
Ability to adapt and realign one’s own role and that of team members to contribute to a crisis/emergency situation.
Participates in disaster planning, preparation and response as needed.
Provide disaster relief and/or emergency field operational support in a large-scale emergency, where staff numbers are compromised, or additional resources are required
The majority of the work is performed in an environment which is mostly clean and comfortable.
