Data Scientist

The Team:

In this Data Analyst position you will work directly with automotive clients to support the delivery of bespoke projects as part of the S&P Global Mobility Consulting Services Practice. The automotive industry is facing disruptive changes such as electric vehicles, connected cars and digitized retailing. These mega trends affect the way manufacturers and importers plan their dealer networks for the future. Network Planning projects help optimize the future dealer location footprint, market coverage and sales penetration.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Automation Development: Design, develop, and implement automation solutions using Python, SQL, Snowflake, and Power BI to enhance data processing across workflows.

  • Data Validation & Discrepancy Resolution: Identify and resolve data mismatches across multiple sources by analyzing discrepancies, cross-referencing databases, and ensuring data consistency.

  • Mastering Data & Sources: Develop expertise in key data sources, industry-specific datasets, and reference/master data management to ensure the highest quality in reporting and analytics.

  • Conduct preliminary data quality checks before critical data delivery deadlines.

  • Collaboration & Integration: Work closely with global teams and stakeholders to align automation solutions with business needs and evolving data requirements.

  • Data Management & Quality Control: Ensure consistency and accuracy in data used for reporting, analytics, and decision-making.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • A degree in computer science, information technology, mathematics, applied statistics, or similar

  • Good research and analytical skills

  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, and R

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Effective time keeping & organizational skills

  • The ability to work independently & pro-actively in a global team

  • Commitment to quality and continuous improvement

  • Independent learning and accountability

  • Experience in automotive would be beneficial, though not essential
