THE OPPORTUNITY

We are hiring a Mid-Level Backend for our CODE (Consumer Digital Experience) Focus Area, Challenges & Gamification team in Brazil! 

CODE is an acronym for Consumer Digital Experience, which means we're in charge of the experience and services that will guide people in their wellbeing journey. Our main goal in CODE is to make wellbeing universal. From knowing about Wellhub and getting access to exclusive benefits to using our vast partner network, it is in the end-user experience. 

CODE teams are responsible for developing and maintaining Wellhub's App, frontend, and backend services, and Design System and work closely with product, UX, and data teams to create an excellent experience for the users of our platform. 

Our mission as Challenges & Gamification Squad is to create new products that can boost user engagement. Also, we want the users to stick on the Wellhub Services. So, we are constantly doing experiments.

YOUR IMPACT

• You are a passionate developer who is driven by getting things done with high quality and timely;
• You will have plenty of opportunities to take part in architectural decisions, suggest improvements, bring innovation to the table, and make sure design docs are up to date;
• You will be able to interact with the product team and other business stakeholders in a highly collaborative, agile environment;
• You will be accountable for your decisions and possess a high level of ownership over the products you are delivering;
• You will take ownership of some key features, perform pull request reviews, and take part in all the architectural decisions of the squad;
• You are a data-driven person who asks for data to support product decisions before blindly implementing things;
• You try to simplify the scope of what you are constantly developing;
• You are bold and innovative. You are eager to learn and share knowledge, and improve your toolset of technical, business continuity, and communication skills to provide more and more impact to the company;
• You ensure successful deliveries and promote the long-term technical health of our journeys;
• Ensure a high bar on code quality standards, making sure devs are proud of their work;
• You spread development best practices such as code reviews, pair programming, TDD, etc;
• Take part in incident resolution and troubleshooting in production;

WHO YOU ARE

• Experience designing and developing complex modern web applications;
• Experience in developing RESTful web services collaborating with front end teams to create mocks, define payloads, and HTTP status of APIs;
• Experience with at least one programming languages such as Go, Kotlin or Java;
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL technology such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, understanding common use cases and performance pitfalls;
• Experience dealing with event-driven architectures and message brokers such as RabbitMQ, KAFKA, AWS SQS, AWS SNS, etc;
• Experience applying computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis;
• Experience with monitoring, observability, and KPIs tracking;
• Experience with microservices and high-volume distributed systems;
• Experience with Cloud-based architectures;
• Strong communication skills, including verbal and written English and Portuguese;
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent practical experience.
