Now, we're seeking a Principal Consultant to spearhead our impactful projects within the Energy and Industry sectors.

About the Role:

Are you a recognised expert passionate about climate finance within energy and industry? Do you excel at navigating complex challenges, blending meticulous detail with a strategic overview? Are you a respected leader with an extensive professional network, known for inspiring teams and exceeding client expectations?

As our Principal Consultant, you'll drive excellence, champion innovation, and lead the strategic growth of our energy and industry portfolio. You'll manage a team of sector specialists, ensuring high-quality delivery, effective resource management, and exceptional client satisfaction. Your thought leadership will shape our direction and impact.

Your impact:

  • Shape strategy: Contribute to our consulting team's strategic goals and spearhead key initiatives for major clients within your technical areas.
  • Lead and inspire: Manage and mentor a team of consultants, fostering their growth and ensuring accountability.
  • Drive growth: Expand our client and partner network, represent E Co. externally, and contribute to compelling marketing and bid content.
  • Deliver excellence: Oversee and ensure the quality of complex consulting assignments, managing teams and exceeding client expectations.
  • Champion knowledge: Champion knowledge management efforts, share best practices, and refine our methodologies.

What you'll bring:

  • 20+ years of relevant international experience (EU neighbourhood, Balkans, MENA and/or LAC preferred).
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MA, MSc, PhD) in a related field.
  • Deep expertise in Energy and Industry, with a strong understanding of climate change mitigation/adaptation/resilience (e.g., Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency).
  • Proven success in upstream consulting (market analysis, strategy formulation, policy development, programme/project design, fund support).
  • Experience working with major public sector clients (e.g., EBRD, WB, EIB, GIZ) is essential; private sector experience is a plus.
  • Strong project and team leadership skills with a track record of on-time, on-budget, high-quality delivery.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship management abilities.
  • Experience as a quality manager for projects and proposals.

Bonus points:

  • Experience in Africa, Eastern Europe, Latin America, and/or Asia.
  • Fluency in English and another language (French, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, or Arabic).
  • Experience working with the global funds (e.g. GCF, GEF, and/or Adaptation Fund) 
  • Established network within sustainable and international development.
