The State Approvals Manager oversees the completion of documentation related to the state approvals process and third-party approvals required for online curriculum providers.  This position requires a strong background in curriculum and understanding of state academic standards.

Position Information: This is a regular, full-time position, reporting to the Vice President of Field Operations and Enablement.

 

Compensation: Base pay is anticipated to be between $87,986 and $100,000 per year. Eligible employees may also receive incentive/commission/annual bonus pay based on individual and/or company performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as, but not limited to, individual skills, experience, training, education/certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and local market conditions.

 

Location: In this US-based position your location will be remote.

Envision Your Experience.

In this role you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Manages the end-to-end process of obtaining state approvals and renewals for educational programs and courses.
  • Reviews and understands state requirements and processes for online providers in assigned states.
  • Develops and completes required written documentation to meet deadlines for state submissions. 
  • Manages document coordination provided by the team.
  • Works with internal teams (Sales, Bids, Instructional Services) to gather information related to project requirements.
  • Maintains a strong knowledge of the company including curriculum, curriculum design, software and related services.
  • Ensures documentation is accurate.
  • Manages projects to ensure time sensitive deadlines are met.
  • Performs monthly reporting of teacher and student data as required by legislation.
  • Other duties as required.

Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in this role, include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Liberal Arts, or related field and a minimum of 8+ years’ experience in the education industry, preferably middle school/high school science and/or related experience working with other vendors who provide similar products and services; or an acceptable combination of education and experience. 
  • Strong background in curriculum with an understanding of state and national alignments.
  • Background in technical writing.
  • Ability to read and understand state approval requirements.
  • Familiarity with online or virtual education programs.
  • Higher order thinking skills.
  • Proven experience prioritizing and managing multiple assignments concurrently, performing well under pressure, and meeting deadlines, while ensuring acute attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours as needed to meet tight deadlines and accommodate stakeholders across multiple time
  • zones.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to help create a high-quality results-driven, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
