About the Role:

We are looking for a seasoned engineer to join our Cloud Growth team. In this role, you will bring the vision of taking our Growth initiatives to the next level for Confluent Cloud and Confluent’s Data Streaming Platform. You will help solve complex technical challenges across teams and disciplines to unlock the next phase of customer and revenue growth. As an engineer on the Growth team, you will work closely with Growth Frontend engineering, Growth Backend engineering and other engineering teams and key stakeholders to architect, design, and build out experiences powering the Confluent Cloud to enable delivery of new business opportunities as we are building the next generation Data Streaming Platform. You will help drive end-to-end technical delivery from design through testing to deployment in Production in a fast-paced development cycle. You are not confined to the status quo and you leverage your expertise in Cloud-native, large-scale distributed systems to help deliver our industry leading platform.

What You Will Do:

• Own and operate the overall Software Development Lifecycle -- including, but not limited to design, coding, testing, infrastructure, security, operations, etc.
• Partner across engineering and other key stakeholders to build and drive the next phase of customer and revenue growth.
• Deliver high impact to the business by driving important technical initiatives in areas comprising (but not limited to) visualization, data analysis, developer tooling, SDKs, platforms/frameworks, architectural direction, and major component improvements across organizational boundaries.

What You Will Bring:

• Minimum of 8 years of software development
• Technical expertise in large scale systems engineering or distributed systems
• Expertise in Cloud Native technology including networking & security
• Expertise in multiple programming Languages and IDEs (Typescript, Java, Golang, Python, etc.)
• Experience running production services in cloud
• Ability to influence the team, peers, and management using effective communication and collaborative techniques
• Experience interviewing to ensure a high technical hiring bar and experience mentoring junior talent.
• A track record of removing friction, driving improvements across the development stack with a sense of urgency, an aggressive mindset towards achieving results, and excellent prioritization skills
• BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience. An advanced degree in computer science is preferred)
