The Role
The Lead Security Professional must have advanced practical experience in criminal investigations and managing all aspects of physical security matters. They will monitor security incidents, conduct investigations, serve as a liaison between Lumen and law enforcement agencies across the country as well as represent Lumen in court proceedings. The Lead Security Professional will conduct initial and recurring training for Lumen employees, process internal requests on a wide range of security and access issues as well as investigate and report security violations. They will be responsible for maintaining associated security paperwork and records and effectively work across Lumen Business Units.

This is a work from home position anywhere within the US.
The Main Responsibilities
- Maintain daily monitoring of security incidents across the organization, follow up on cases with employees in the field and with law enforcement agencies.
- Conduct in-service training with field operations, mass markets and other Business Units on how to report security incidents and on the importance of accuracy and clarity when submitted reports, as well as best practices to mitigate potential losses.
- Ensure the safety and security of Lumen field employees while providing guidance on crime scene procedures / preservation of evidence and serve as an in-house subject matter expert on theft and vandalism prevention.
- Act as Lumen’s representative with industry peers to coordinate on crime prevention strategies and proactively address areas of concern with appropriate countermeasures.
- Maintain and coordinate with video support on utilization and deployment of Lumen’s camera systems including internet protocol and covert cameras.
- Maintain and coordinate with Lumen leadership on crime trends and metrics utilized to prevent future incidents.
- Effectively coordinate with Legal as well as Legislative and Government Affairs on a wide range of matters.
- Provide regular reporting to senior management on all aspects of physical security. Coordinate on case progression with Senior Manager of Physical Security while demonstrating contributions to key metrics and strategic goals.
What We Look For in a Candidate
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting investigations with strong interviewing skills.
- Ability to effectively liaise with federal, state and local law enforcement.
- Minimum of eight to ten years successful experience in law enforcement conducting violent crime and/or property crime investigations is required.
- Experience managing people and investigative programs is preferred.
Education:
- A two-year college degree is required, four-year degree preferred.

Compensation
