Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to support our commercial, industrial, and civil construction projects. This role is vital in ensuring that our project proposals are accurate, competitive, and profitable. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in the electrical trade, a strong understanding of estimating principles, and proficiency in industry-standard software such as GroundPlan and simPRO.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and interpret project specifications, drawings, and plans to define the scope of work
Prepare detailed cost estimates considering material takeoffs, labour, equipment costs, project duration, overheads, and profit margins
Use GroundPlan and simPRO to estimate, schedule, and generate professional quotes
Ensure all estimates and practices comply with Victorian and Australian electrical legislation and safety standards
Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and availability
Prepare competitive and compliant bids for tender submissions
Identify and assess potential risks, integrating contingency plans into estimates
Present cost summaries and requirements clearly to management and other departments
Stay current with industry best practices, technologies, and regulation changes

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

Relevant electrical trade qualifications
Experience in electrical estimating, ideally within commercial and industrial construction
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and installation procedures
Proficiency in GroundPlan and simPRO
Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
Strong commercial awareness and budgeting experience
Ability to read and interpret complex plans and schematics
High attention to detail and strong communication skills
Able to work independently and within a team
