Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-driven AU RTO Compliance Officer to oversee the onboarding and ongoing compliance of trainers, assessors, and third-party partners across our RTO brands. This role is essential in ensuring our training partners meet all standards set out by ASQA and relevant frameworks. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining high-quality training delivery through auditing, monitoring, and supporting compliance activities. Job Description

As an AU RTO Compliance Officer, part of your responsibilities will include:

Trainer & Third-Party Onboarding
  • Review and approve third-party applications and agreements for compliance with the Standards for RTOs.
  • Verify trainer and assessor credentials, vocational competencies, and currency documentation.
  • Assess third-party capacity to deliver compliant training and assessment services.
  • Ensure third-party marketing and public content meets RTO and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate onboarding records and update the student management system (SMS) accordingly.
Ongoing Compliance Monitoring
  • Conduct audits and reviews of trainer performance, facilities, and delivery practices.
  • Regularly check qualifications, industry engagement, and currency of delivery personnel.
  • Monitor third-party marketing, complaints, and learner feedback to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Maintain updated registers and documentation to support audit-readiness.
  • Support and guide third-party staff in meeting compliance obligations and implementing corrective actions.
Product & Training Strategy Compliance
  • Collaborate with the product development team to ensure courses meet regulatory standards.
  • Review training and assessment strategies (TAS) and contribute to validation processes.
  • Ensure industry consultation is documented and training products are up to date.
  • Maintain compliance registers for validation, feedback, trainer currency, and industry engagement.
Internal Communication & Support
  • Share compliance updates and expectations through forums, newsletters, and email.
  • Contribute to the development of professional learning opportunities for third-party trainers and assessors.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote a culture of compliance and quality.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience working as a Compliance officer in the RTO industry in Australia.
  • Experience working for an Australian Client/Business is required.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience in RTO compliance, including trainer onboarding, third-party monitoring, and internal auditing.
  • Knowledge of the Standards for RTOs, ASQA regulatory requirements, and compliance documentation processes.
  • Experience with student management systems (SMS), learning management systems (LMS), and CRMs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital tools used for compliance tracking and communications.
