Reporting to the Applications Manager P&P, the Training and Applications Engineer will be responsible for providing pre-sales support, delivering customer training sessions, offering ongoing technical application support, and collaborating with product management and engineering teams to deliver VOS (Voice of Sales) and VOC (Voice of the Customer) feedback on new products. This is a remote position, with up to 80% travel across the U.S.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Deliver training sessions to customers through various methods, including onsite at customer locations, classroom settings, and virtual platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams).

  • Lead training sessions for X-Rite Support Teams, Product Application Specialists, and Regional X-Rite employees, demonstrating and educating them on the use of X-Rite products.

  • Act as the knowledge champion for specific X-Rite products, markets, and applications. This includes managing Knowledge Base content for assigned areas and collaborating with product development teams on new or updated product releases.

  • Provide efficient and effective customer support via phone, email, and web-based platforms within the X-Rite Technical Support environment. Combine personal industry knowledge, product expertise, and the Knowledge Base to resolve customer issues related to software and hardware installations, drivers, databases, and other product-related topics.

  • Meet or exceed team and individual performance goals, including Response Time (Average time to respond to a customer inquiry) and Resolution Time ( Average time to resolve a customer issue).

  • Create and maintain Knowledge Base materials, including but not limited to FAQs, videos, slide decks, technical documents, competitive analyses, white papers, case studies, online tutorials, and printed brochures.

  • Conduct pre- and post-release testing on new product launches to ensure products meet specifications and to provide customer-driven feedback (VOC) to product management and engineering teams.

  • Support Sales Directors and Field Sales Representatives by assisting with the creation and implementation of critical customer programs, ensuring 100% customer follow-up and thorough communication regarding issue resolution.

  • Foster teamwork, collaboration, and positive interaction within and across teams and other departments.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Experience in the printing and packaging industry is strongly preferred.

  • Proven ability to deliver training sessions and communicate complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-focused approach.

  • Experience with instruments and software similar to those manufactured by X-Rite.

  • Proficiency in PC applications, including Windows, Microsoft Office (word processing, spreadsheets, databases), and familiarity with Macintosh OS.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $85,000 - $90,000 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
