DESCRIPTION 

As a member of the Business Efficiency Unit (BEU) the Operations Associate I is responsible for providing support to our underpayment service line by saving medical documentation, checking for hospital claim changes, reviewing hospital patient accounting software for recent payments, adding notes to hospital accounts, assisting with account follow up, and other similar tasks. 

  

RESPONSIBILITIES 

* This is not an inclusive list.  Other duties may be assigned. There will be a training program. 

  • Understand and retrieve different types of hospital documentation including, but not limited to, medical records, UB-04s, EOBs, Itemized Bills, Hospital Account notes, etc.  
  • Utilize technology to obtain work assignments and to communicate with other employees in a clear and concise manner.   
  • Utilize provider systems to obtain necessary documentation and information based on needs of the underpayments service line. 
  • Review the underpayment team’s recommended claim changes to the client and determine if a new claim exists with those exact changes. 
  • Review hospitals’ patient accounting software to determine if new payments have posted and log those accurately into the R1 software. 
  • Manage dynamic work assignment queue and close out requests timely, efficiently, and correctly 
  • Proven ability to operate independently and consistently in a remote work environment 
  • Maintain a private and secure remote work environment that meets R1's requirements with respect HIPAA guidelines  

  

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Associates or technical degree; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Excellent time management skills 
  • Self-starter, comfortable working alone as well as with a team

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $16.29 - $20.36 per hour . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
