About the Job

Thriveworks is seeking a full-time Remote Medical Assistant to work closely with the telepsychiatry team and act as a liaison between clients and clinicians.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Input client information into an EHR

  • Coordinate medical records requests for clinicians

  • Process inbound/outbound lab work

  • Process refill requests for patients

  • Process prior authorizations

  • Triage medical questions/requests

  • Assist with FMLA/STD paperwork

  • Assist in managing high-volume email accounts to answer questions from patients and clinicians

  • Assist in managing high-volume of faxes

  • Provide any additional administrative support to medical staff, the Regional Clinic Director, and the Executive Director 

Skills / Qualifications

  • Active certification as a CMA or RMA

  • 7 - 9 years of MA experience, preferably some experience in a remote environment 

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with a diverse population of clientele

  • Excellent phone communication skills

  • Experience in managing high volume email and timely, professional responses to clients and clinicians

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Working knowledge and experience using business software (word processing, spreadsheets, Google Workspace, etc.) 

Requirements 

  • Prior experience working with EHR systems, preferably AMD

  • Experience in maintaining HIPAA-compliant practices and procedures

  • Familiarity with an outpatient office setting

  • Ability to work the following schedule: Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm EST
