Job Description Summary
Provides genetic counseling services and education to patients and their family members under the physician's direct supervision, serving as an expert resource regarding cancer related genetics.
Job Description
Functions as part of a multi-disciplinary team focused on the medical specialty of cancer genetics. Provides leadership and education to patients, family members, staff, Physicians, and other healthcare providers. Participates in research development activities. Serves as a consultant for the Cancer Risk Assessment and Genetic Counselor Program for Sentara Professionals. Works with and supports physicians, health colleagues, and the community in efforts of education regarding the genetic aspects of hereditary cancer syndrome.
