Baptist Health Medical Group is looking for a Coding Education Supervisor to join our team. This is a remote position that requires residency in KY or IN
Oversees the daily operations of Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Specialists and Coding Education Specialists in the provision of documentation and coding as it pertains to physician services for Baptist Health Medical Group. Develops and Provides education and training to physicians, nonphysician providers, coders, practice managers, leadership, and other staff on the assignment of CPT,
HCPCS and ICD-10-CM codes including HCC criteria, as well as documentation and coding guidelines. Works with other departments to problem solve missing charges, coding errors, codes for new services, missing documentation, denials, and updates to computer systems. Collaborates with departments regarding Value Based Care, HCC risk score impact and clinical documentation best practices. The Supervisor assists with management of workflow and monitoring activities within the coding education team, management of provider and coder quality review assignments, works cooperatively with the Director, Coding Education to supervise coding education team time/attendance, education and reviews quality and productivity. Position requires a self-motivated, flexible, confident presenter that can travel and work remotely.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required
High School/GED
Associate degree or higher in a healthcare related field preferred
2+ years in a supervisor position
2+ years of HCC coding experience
Coding certification of either CPC, CRC, or CCS-P (AAPC, AHIMA or Other Acceptable Professional Organization) required.
Must obtain CRC- Certified Risk Coder certification within 1 year
