At least 4 years of experience in Bookkeeping and Accounting, with Management Accounting experience preferred., Proficiency in accounting software such as XERO, MYOB, or QuickBooks., Intermediate/advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, with certification preferred., Strong understanding of Australian taxation, including BAS and GST..

Key responsabilities:

  • Prepare fully reconciled Balance Sheets and General Ledgers, including EOM checklists and journal postings.
  • Generate Management Reports, including P&L reviews and KPI trend graphs.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects, including client profitability analysis and system reconciliations.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and provide insightful commentary on financial results.

Job description

This is a remote position.

  • Able to competently prepare a fully reconciled Balance Sheet/GL. This includes doing EOM checklist, posting EOM journals, Balance Sheet and P&L sweeps, and full working paper commentaries on work done on each GL accounts
  • Able to prepare Management Reports based on predefined templates. This includes P&L reviews of actuals versus budgets, graphs on KPI trends, and draft of executive summary of financial results
  • Assist on inputs for adhoc projects such as deep dives for potential clients, system reconciliations, WIP (job by job profitability) for new clients, budgets, and other projects
  • Ability to explore the job costing interface systems used by clients and reconciled to their accounting systems (Xero/MYOB)
  • Promptly informs the Team Leader /Senior Accountants of any issues with accounts
  • Be able to effectively communicate with Xact’s Tax, Compliance and Advisory Teams 
  • Ability to explain the nature of assigned client’s business
  • Able to understand the drivers that make a given business or industry sector the ability to make a profit
  • Able to critically analyze the EOM packs to give insightful commentaries and recommendations for business, systems, or profit improvement
  • Maintains and builds a supportive and effective team culture.
  • Upholds and promotes the firm’s values.
  • Maintains the highest ethical and professional standards.


Requirements
  • At least 4 + years’ experience in Bookkeeping and Accounting, Management Accounting experience highly desired
  • Basic Skills with XERO, MYOB, QuickBooks or equivalent
  • Basic understanding of Australian taxation (BAS/GST)
  • Intermediate/advanced Word and Excel skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Intermediate MS Excel and MS Word Certification
  •  Familiar with tax law and legislation in Australia (GST, PAYGW and PAYGI)
  • Well-honed bookkeeping skills with excellent communication skills
