About the Team

The Data Platform team builds the foundation that powers everything from Stitch Fix's signature personalization to our most cutting-edge AI innovations. We exist to make our data scientists and engineers wildly productive - by delivering fast, flexible, and trusted infrastructure that fuels experimentation, recommendations, insights, and now, a whole new generation of AI/ML-powered experiences.

About the Role

As a Data Platform Engineer – AI & Insights Enablement, you'll evolve Stitch Fix's modern data stack to support the next wave of AI/ML-powered products, enterprise analytics, and knowledge systems. This is a high-impact individual contributor role on the Data Platform team - part of the larger Data & Business Systems organization.
Your work will directly influence the scalability, discoverability, and trustworthiness of our data platform as we integrate advanced AI capabilities into our workflows. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our infrastructure is ready for intelligent orchestration, semantic reasoning, and insight delivery.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will…
  • Design and build foundational AI data capabilities supporting LLM orchestration, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG/GraphRAG), semantic data layers, and vectorized search
  • Implement knowledge-aware infrastructure, including graph-based context retrieval and entity-centric search
  • Partner with teams to create metadata-rich, AI-ready datasets for analytics, personalization, and enterprise decision-making
  • Evolve our core data stack (Spark, Trino, Iceberg, Kafka) to meet the scale and latency demands of AI workloads
  • Define and implement observability, lineage, and access standards for our data products and AI applications
  • Support critical data pipelines while creating abstractions that simplify end-user interactions
  • Unify workflows from data ingestion to model serving, ensuring a shared foundation for feature stores, ML observability, and semantic modeling
We’re excited about you because…
  • You have 4+ years of experience building cloud-scale data infrastructure or ML platforms
  • You've contributed to AI-focused systems such as LLM APIs, RAG/GraphRAG, vector search, or knowledge graphs
  • You've worked with vector and graph databases to support intelligent querying and semantic discovery
  • You're hands-on with Spark, SQL, and Python and/or Scala with strong experience building scalable APIs and services
  • You understand streaming systems such as Kafka or Flink and how to design for real-time insights
  • You have experience with orchestration systems, CI/CD, and production monitoring
  • You're interested in defining data product standards, governance-by-design, and AI observability metrics
  • You thrive in cross-functional, collaborative environments and navigate evolving priorities effectively
  • You're detail-oriented, curious, and passionate about building infrastructure people love to use
Why you'll love working at Stitch Fix...
  • We are a group of bright, kind people who are motivated by challenge. We value integrity, innovation and trust. You’ll bring these characteristics to life in everything you do at Stitch Fix.
  • We cultivate a community of diverse perspectives— all voices are heard and valued.
