Data Analyst Claims
The Data Analyst provides analytical and organizational support to the business unit operations/management. They are proficient in data processing and report development, as well as scripting languages, including Python and SQL. Capable of creating, developing, testing, and deploying highly adaptive tools and reports used to support business. Responsible for conducting data analysis, analyzing trends, and creating visualizations and dashboards. The Data Analyst will be expected to understand established procedures and recommend improvements. The Data Analyst can self-manage tasks, projects, and complete them in a timely manner under general supervision.
Job Duties
Under general supervision develop SQL scripts and long-term reporting using a variety of data analysis tools / languages (SQL, Teradata, Tableau, and Excel). Identify and analyze trends with root cause analysis while providing solutions.
Provide semi-complex ad hoc data analysis in a variety of source systems and using a variety of data analysis tools/ languages (SQL, Teradata, Tableau, Excel). Identify and analyze trends with root cause analysis while providing solutions.
Assists in the design, build, and maintenance of reporting that measures performance of KPIs such as Service Quality, Productivity, Frequency, and Severity. Develop internal reports on expenses, incentive programs, initiatives, and performance goals and results. Organize projects clearly with accurate plan for speed of delivery of initiatives.
Meet with Team and Claims Management concerning semi-complex production reporting and enhancements. Provides detail regarding challenges and offer solutions and recommendations.
Continuous technical, analytical, and business acumen development. Learn and apply best practices and share knowledge with others.
Collaborate with other Business Units such as Underwriting and Product Management to accomplish common goals and objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelors Computer and Information Science
Bachelors equivalent combination of education and experience
4-6 years experience in a traditional data or analytics corporate environment. Required
1-3 years experience in providing qualitative or quantitative data compilation, analysis and reporting. Preferred
1-3 years experience with manipulating data with SQL, Python, R or related technologies. Preferred
Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills required (incl. VBA, macros, complex calculations, etc.).
Strong SQL skills with data mining knowledge preferred.
Proficient in Tableau and Python preferred.
Professional verbal and written communication skills required.
Analytical, organizational and time management skills required.
Able to rapidly learn new processes, databases, applications.
Innovative mindset with demonstrated creativity or innovation in some past work experience preferred.
Data Science Nanodegree within 1 Year Preferred
Tableau Certified Associate within 1 Year Preferred
The starting pay range for this position is:
$72,700.00 - $96,800.00Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
