About the Role

The Specialist, Direct Material Procurement is an operational support role, responsible for supporting Harman’s procurement processes for direct materials used in the production of Harman’s finished goods.  These activities include the maintenance and validation of master data consistency from the vendor master to purchase order generation.

What You Will Do

  • Creation, maintenance, and validation of Procurement Master Data & transactional settings including Vendors, Material Master, Purchasing Information Records, Source Lists, Scheduling Agreement, Quota Arrangements & EDI
  • Contact suppliers to attain missing data needed for system updates.
  • Act as a liaison between Category Managers and Material Planning/Supplier Quality Engineers to help expedite the vendors set-up and SAP records needed to complete purchase orders
  • Issue resolution related to order management with Material Planning, specifically related to part shortage situations.
  • Ensure compliance to ordering from non-qualified secondary sources.
  • Execute critical sourcing and process management of related activities from RFQ to PO execution and follow up including monitoring and control records.
  • The position has a global scope of action with high requirements for analytical skills, attention to detail, ERP Materials Module expertise, global time-zone differences management, self-directing, remote working in English, Collaboration, Judgement and Results Driven focus.

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Require a degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Business Operation, Supply Chain Management, Materials management, or related field.
  • 4+ years’ experience in supporting Procurement activities including sourcing.
  • English language fluency
  • ERP Materials Module expertise
  • Good understanding of the P2P (Purchase-to-Pay) Processes

Bonus Points if You Have

  • SAP MM module experience including Procurement master data set up.
  • Excel, PowerPoint, strong reporting and analytical skills to summarize large amounts of data.
  • Remote working and global scope experience
  • Strong initiative and ownership of their area
