Senior Lead UX Designer 

Firaxis is looking for a Senior Lead UX Designer to champion intuitive design, player empathy, and seamless interaction across our gameplay and UI systems. If you have a passion for strategy games and ensuring players get the best experience possible, we want to hear from you!

What You’ll Do:

  • Own the end-to-end UX vision for our next project, from concept to launch, ensuring a cohesive and frictionless player experience.
  • Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of UX/UI designers, providing guidance, feedback, and direction.
  • Collaborate closely with Game Designers, Engineers, and Artists to translate gameplay goals into polished, usable experiences.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design decisions and iterate quickly.
  • Establish UX best practices and pipelines that scale with the team and support ongoing development.
  • Advocate for accessibility and inclusivity in design to support a wide range of players.

 

What Will Make You A Great Fit:

  • 6+ years of UX design experience, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or senior role in the game industry.
  • portfolio that showcases UX design work on shipped titles, including game flows, wireframes, prototypes, and final implementations.
  • Deep understanding of game systems, player psychology, and interaction design principles.
  • Proficiency in tools like Figma, Adobe CC, Unity/Unreal, and rapid prototyping tools.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset – you're a bridge between creative vision and technical execution.
  • Passion for games, and a desire to push the medium forward.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience designing UX for deep strategy games.
  • Experience in UE5 UMG, Blueprints and material editing.
  • Familiarity with accessibility guidelines (e.g., WCAG, Xbox/PlayStation accessibility standards).
