Data Transformation Sr Consultant

Job Description

As Data Transformation Sr Consultant, you will be responsible for the transformation of Global People data from a variety of sources into the format required by downstream systems and our Workday HRIS. You will be responsible for the Workday EIB (ETL) process.

In this role, you will:

  • Data extraction: Retrieving data from multiple sources like databases, applications, and flat files. 

  • Data mapping: Defining how data from different sources should be matched and transformed to fit the target structure. 

  • Data transformation: Applying various manipulation techniques like aggregation, filtering, calculation, and normalization to structure the data appropriately. 

  • Data validation: Implementing checks to ensure data quality and accuracy after transformations. 

  • Data integration: Combining data from multiple sources into a unified dataset. 

  • Data standardization: Applying consistent formatting and data types across the dataset. 

  • Data documentation: Maintaining detailed records of transformation logic, mappings, and data lineage for traceability and troubleshooting. 

  • Developing transformation processes: Designing and implementing data transformation workflows using ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools and principles, to include Workday EIBs. 

  • Performance optimization: Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks within data transformation processes.

Key Qualifications and Experiences: 

  • 5+ Years experience performing hands on Data transformations using ETL tools, specifically Workday EIBs.

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills identifying and resolving data transformation challenges.

  • Effectively communicate data mapping, transformation, and structure along with critical requirements and findings to stakeholders.

  • Proven data modelling ability through development of data structures and relationships.

  • Knowledge of Power BI, Power Query and SQL – ability to create data visualizations.
