Sales Executive

What does a successful Sales Executive do at Fiserv?

The Government Solutions organization is Fiserv's dedicated division for serving federal, state, and local governments, as well as higher education institutions, non-profits, and utility companies. We provide a diverse range of payment solutions and consulting services to help these entities fulfill their missions and serve their communities. As a Sales Executive on the Government Solutions team, you will lead strategic management for new clients, crafting sales plans and selling an innovative suite of payment and technology solutions in complex environments. This quota-carrying position focuses on expanding Fiserv's market share and presence through value-driven sales activities with existing and prospective clients, particularly within the public sector sales portfolio in Southern California and beyond.

What you will do:

  • Drive new account selling within state and local governments with moderate to long length sales cycles, managing the effective movement of leads through the sales process, including: qualification of prospects; assessment of potential client needs; presentation of Fiserv solutions; driving the response to Requests for Proposal and expeditious closing of business.
  • Recommend new value-add solutions through unsolicited proposals to create customer demand and help customer identify and measure the impact of the proposed business improvement, leveraging relevant contract vehicles when applicable
  • Achieve or exceed assigned sales revenue quota.
  • Accurately manage, track, and precisely forecast revenue opportunities in a customer relationship management system, maintaining CRM discipline.
  • Effectively present value to C level executives both remotely and in person, involving discussing complex topics, negotiating, and delivering effective presentations.

What you will need to have:

  • 5+ years of experience in public sector solution sales, driving strategies, tactics and account plans to identify, qualify and secure new clients
  • 5+ years previous experience in outside or field sales roles
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience

What would be great to have:

  • Proven success carrying and exceeding a quota.
  • Experience responding to public sector Requests for Proposal (RFPs), guiding support teams through strategizing, solutioning, drafting, and submitting winning proposals, including participation as the deal owner
  • Experience working in a large and dynamic matrix environment
  • Exposure to and experience working with the public sector
  • Payments industry preferred
  • Experience selling financial or technology products preferred
  • Passion for customer service and exceptional follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Important info about this role:

  • Must be able to travel up to 60% of the time.
  • This is a full-time, direct-hire position, and no contract options for unsolicited agency submissions will be considered.

Salary Range

$78,500.00 - $167,100.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in New York and California. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
