Job description

Who We Are
We are a leading BIM company specializing in hands-on, field-focused Building Information Modeling (BIM) services. Since our establishment in 2007, we’ve grown into the largest and most experienced BIM production service provider in the United States, with over 5,000 projects completed. Our dedicated team of more than 500 professionals delivers tailored BIM solutions, including MEP Modeling, VDC/BIM Management, Laser Scanning, and Scan to BIM, by collaborating with architects, engineers, and owners to meet their specific needs.

The Role
At ENG, the Electrical VDC Coordinator position includes a wide variety of responsibilities that can include, but are not limited to, the statements below. This job description may evolve based on the needs of the role, project scope, business unit, and the client being supported.

General Goals, Challenges, and Scope of the Electrical VDC Coordinator Role
An Electrical VDC Coordinator at ENG plays a critical role in leading the coordination of electrical scopes in BIM projects. This involves managing workflows for teams of modelers and specialists, maintaining alignment with project schedules, and ensuring technical excellence across all deliverables.

The Electrical VDC Coordinator is responsible for meeting modeling and coordination objectives according to client expectations—focusing on electrical systems within MEP projects. A key challenge of this role is stakeholder management, as it requires effective communication with internal teams, external vendors, and clients. The coordinator acts as the central point of contact for all coordination efforts related to the electrical scope.

While this is a leadership position, the Electrical VDC Coordinator is expected to remain hands-on, contributing directly to modeling and coordination tasks to stay aligned with technical standards and software updates, and to actively support the team when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Coordination: Guide and support modelers and BIM specialists working on the electrical scope.
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain regular communication with internal teams, clients, and other trades.
  • Project Execution: Ensure timely delivery of models and drawings that meet client expectations, technical accuracy, and constructability standards.
  • Technical Support: Provide mentorship and training to team members while contributing directly to model production when needed.
  • Client Interface: Act as a technical point of contact for the electrical scope in coordination meetings and review sessions.

QA/QC:
Quality is a pillar of ENG’s value proposition. The Electrical VDC Coordinator plays a key role in quality control—reviewing all electrical models and drawings before submission to ensure alignment with project goals, standards, and constructibility.

Decision-Making Scope:
The Electrical VDC Coordinator has decision-making responsibility within the electrical scope of the project. This includes defining workflows, supporting team composition, addressing coordination issues, and collaborating closely with PMs, other discipline leads, and clients to ensure alignment across all project phases.

Mandatory Requirements:
✔ Electrical Engineering degree or Technical Training / Background
✔ 5+ years of experience with Revit & Navisworks on MEP projects (primarily Electrical)
✔ Experience leading technical coordination efforts and small teams
✔ Strong client-facing communication and organizational skills
✔ Experience with U.S.-based projects and codes
✔ Experience with LOD 400 deliverables
