Job description

Title : Sr Software QA Engineer - Android/QA
Duration: 12 months
Location: Remote ( US)
W2 Candidates Acceptable ( No Sponsorship Required)

Interview Process: 2 interview rounds of 45- 60 minutes each

Primary responsibilities (daily/weekly)
• Design and execute black box test plans.
• Perform thorough regression, exploratory, and functional testing on various device types and OS versions.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and developers to understand requirements and identify edge cases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Reproduce, document, and track defects using bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
• Advocate for quality in every step of the development process.
• Participate in sprint planning and release readiness reviews.
• Analyze and report test results to stakeholders.
• Automate test cases for efficiency and scalability.

Must-have skills/qualifications (technical, soft skills, certifications, tools):
• BS in Computer Science (or equivalent) with 5+ years of experience in mobile QA, with a strong focus on Android app testing.
• Deep understanding of Android UI/UX guidelines and mobile QA methodologies.
• Experience with tools like Charles Proxy, ADB, logcat, emulator/simulator environment and crash log analysis.
• Experience with test automation tools such as Espresso or Appium.
• Strong knowledge of black box testing methodologies.
• Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
• Familiarity with mobile accessibility, security and compliance testing.
• Familiarity with performance and network testing.
• Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
