Position Overview:
The Application Specialist is responsible for a key set of applications used by Internet2 staff. This specialist will be our subject matter expert, feature scout, trainer, and main support person for the both software-as-a-service and infrastructure-as-a-service applications and platforms:

Infrastructure-as-a-service platforms AWS and GCP (We know these are enormously broad and deep platforms. A good generalist administrative knowledge is our target.)
The service population for this role will be all relevant Internet2 staff. The Application Specialist will be part of the Service Management team, a core group that primarily supports two keydivisions at Internet2: The Trust and Identity division whose web presence is primarily https://incommon.org/; and the NET+ Cloud division, which supports innovative cloud partnerships and services for our research and education community in the US. https://internet2.edu/cloud/internet2-net-plus-services/
The Service Management team provides business administration functions for these divisions, including Customer Support channels, Onboarding services, Contract negotiations, Contract development, data management, business analytics, and other business administration and customer support services.

Responsibilities:
Application support for our software-as-a-service and infrastructure as a service platforms.
Enterprise account administration, support, and change management for our in AWS and GCP.
Staff training on SaaS applications via Lunch and Learn, team and 1:1 training.
Ongoing communications and training on current application features and capabilities.
User provisioning, de-provisioning, and other administrative responsibilities on a per-application basis.

This role will be an evolving set of responsibilities, dependent on your skills and abilities, and our own evolving directions.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant concentration or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in related positions.
At least 2 years of experience in training users on applications and tools.
Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly and enthusiastically.
Strong understanding of programming concepts.
Proactive can-do, client-first attitude with a customer service orientation
Knowledge of data management techniques and technologies.
Excellent collaboration skills, including a strong passion for documenting processes and training materials.
Excellent communication skills with people at all levels. To us, this means good listening skills as well as good presentation skills.
Eagerness to learn and a love of problem solving.
Ability to work remotely and with virtual teams.
Ability to travel domestically, approximately three weeks per year. .
Preferred Skills:
Experience with business administration, customer service, and the technical environments that support them, a major plus.
Demonstrated experience in Process Street.
Some basic experience with code/programming languages.

Salary Range / Pay Grade:
$60,800 - $91,200 / IT-1
Starting pay is typically from the minimum up to the midpoint of the grade range and varies based on experience.
