Job Summary:
Ambit is seeking a strategic, entrepreneurial Vice President of Business Development to support our business growth through leading and expanding our partnerships with pharmaceutical and biotech companies. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving profitable revenue growth, strengthening client relationships, and shaping the future of our business.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in management consulting or life sciences services, deep relationships across biotech and pharmaceutical organizations, and a passion for building long-term value through trusted client partnerships—particularly in rare disease and specialty therapeutics.
Resonsibilities:
• As VP of Business Development, you’ll lead efforts to grow our consulting solution areas by identifying and nurturing new opportunities, collaborating closely with delivery teams, and representing Ambit’s brand in the market
• Develop and execute a strategic business development plan focused on expanding our footprint with rare and specialty disease drug developers
• Cultivate and manage executive-level relationships across client organizations, with a focus on commercial, medical and insights/analytics decision-makers
• Identify high-value opportunities aligned to Ambit's capabilities
• Own the sales cycle—from prospecting and lead qualification through proposal development, pitch delivery, and contract negotiation
• Collaborate with delivery leads to design compelling solutions and ensure smooth handoff into project execution
• Represent Ambit at industry conferences, networking events, and thought leadership forums
• Track pipeline metrics and revenue target achievement, as well as provide insight into market trends and client needs
• Contribute to firm strategy and marketing efforts, including shaping service offerings and co-developing go-to-market materials.
Requirements
Requirements:
• 10+ years of experience in management consulting, life sciences strategy, and/or commercial services—preferably with direct experience selling into biopharma organizations
• Deep understanding of biopharma commercial strategy and operations, especially in launch planning, rare disease, and specialty therapeutics
• Proven ability to cultivate and grow high-value client relationships, with a track record of exceeding business development targets
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally across delivery, marketing, and leadership teams
• Comfortable operating in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment
• Willingness to travel to clients and to our office in NYC as needed (1-2 days on average is expected) to build and maintain positive internal and external relationships
• MBA or advanced degree in business or life sciences is a plus
