Senior Database and Migration Specialist

Contract: B2B

Salary: up to 150 PLN/h net/B2B

Location: Remote within Poland

Project: System migration for a large-scale data platform in the energy domain

Project Overview

We're contributing to a 5-year transformation initiative for a client in the energy and infrastructure space. The project focuses on migrating a mission-critical, data-heavy platform from public cloud to a secure on-premise setup. You’ll work in a distributed team of experts, ensuring quality through test strategy, automation, and continuous delivery processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and execute complex data migration strategies from cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS) to on-premise environments.
• Lead the development, optimization, and maintenance of PostgreSQL databases for high-volume, time-series, or mission-critical data.
• Define and implement best practices in database performance tuning, indexing, partitioning, and replication.
• Create and maintain data models, schemas, and documentation aligned with system architecture and business requirements.
• Integrate blob storage (S3 or equivalent) and NoSQL solutions (e.g. Redis) into the overall data architecture.
• Ensure data consistency, integrity, and security throughout the migration lifecycle.
• Collaborate with product owners, system engineers, and DevOps teams to align data flows with platform design.
• Support the automation of database deployments and infrastructure provisioning as part of CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience working as a Database Manager, Administrator, SQL Engineer, or similar.
• Strong experience in PostgreSQL in a senior-level role.
• Proficiency in Python scripting.
• Strong Linux command line and system familiarity.
• Hands-on experience with Redis, NoSQL, and S3 storage.
• Familiarity with data modeling and database design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Fluency in Polish and an advanced level of English (B2/C1).

Nice to Have

• Experience with time-series data systems or similar data-heavy solutions.
• AWS cloud background.
• Previous work with reference projects in utilities, industrial systems, or infrastructure.
