Job description

Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Draft, review, and quality check Non-Disclosure / Confidentiality Agreements, Teaming Agreements and Vendor Contracts to meet expectations of our client.
  • Participate in calls with our client and negotiation calls with counterparties.
  • Exercise excellent professional judgement in negotiation and redlining; resolve first-level disputes and escalate appropriate questions to UnitedLex senior legal team providing support to the client as well as the client’s legal team.
  • Collaborate with client legal team to resolve issues and develop efficient and effective negotiation strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to client vendor management requirements that achieve the optimal combination of service, cost, quality, and risk mitigation.
  • Build and strengthen strong working relationships with clients based on confidence, performance, accountability, and visibility.
  • Maintain professional communication with clients via daily emails, calls and video calls.
  • Assist in the implementation, and communication of formal policies, processes and procedures to govern a supplier contract throughout its life-cycle, including but not limited to appraisal, assessment, on-boarding, risk and performance monitoring, policy compliance, and communication
  • Stay abreast of and contribute to sourcing and procurement’s professional trends and functional innovation particularly around legal and contractual matters
  • Willingness to assume additional responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

  • A law degree with 5+ years of commercial contract experience, preferably in biopharma vertical
  • Comfortable with negotiating complex agreements with a counterparty (i.e., communicating via phone or web meeting as necessary to represent client’s interest and negotiate points of a contract to completion)
  • Experience handling demanding clients
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow a standard operating procedure with business/legal judgment to account for risk while meeting timeline demands by client
  • Strong written and verbal English skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Role will be full remote with working hours aligned to standard U.S. business hours.
