Working with and reporting to the Corporate Controller, as a Senior Revenue Manager, you will oversee and lead the revenue accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely revenue recognition, compliance with accounting standards, and process improvements. You will be responsible for managing the revenue team and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders. This is a newly created role for a seasoned professional with demonstrated experience overseeing revenue recognition.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
>Manage the month-end revenue close process including creating and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, SOX controls, final close analysis and help prepare to deliver results to senior leadership.
>Development and maintenance of revenue recognition policies and procedures, ensuring the identification of, and compliance with, key controls pursuant to the Company's SOX 404 compliance process and procedures.
>Ensure proper revenue recognition under ASC 606 and provide revenue recognition guidance to others within the organization including the Accounting, Sales, FP&A, Sales Operations and Legal Teams.
>Manage contract reviews to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with GAAP and lead the preparation of accounting memos supporting revenue positions.
>Perform review and analysis of contracts under ASC 606, including Standalone Selling Price analysis.
>Serve as the Company’s subject matter expert on revenue accounting and prepare technical documentation.
>Oversight of revenue personnel to include on-going guidance, development, and growth.
>Research technical accounting matters and document positions, assessments, and conclusions on accounting policies as needed.
>Serve as the primary revenue point of contact with the Company's internal and external auditors.
>Lead and participate in ad hoc projects as needed.
Required Skills, Education & Experience
>Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in an appropriate field.
>Active CPA
>7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
>2-3 years' experience in public accounting (Big 4 preferred), experience at a public company, and experience in a revenue specific role.
>Candidate must possess strong critical thinking ability, able to analyze information, solve problems, and make sound judgments independently.
>Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills working with a variety of stakeholders at different levels across various departments.
>Proactive approach to problem identification and collaborative solutions, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
>Ability to work independently, complete work timely, and work well as a team member.
>Flexibility, strong organization, and problem-solving skills
>Meticulous and superior attention to detail
>Advanced technical accounting knowledge of ASC 606, GAAP, and SOX 404
>Experience with writing technical memos and policies preferred.
>Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce is preferred.
