Note: Partly's headquarters are in Christchurch (New Zealand) and London (UK), but we have employees across the USA, NZ, AU, IN, PH, JP, UK and the EU. In the US, we have Employees based in San Fransico and Atlanta but this role can be based anywhere in North America.
Partly exists to connect the world’s parts. We’re building the first truly global platform for replacement parts—starting with automotive—so every component can be found, bought, and fitted without waste.
Founded by ex-Rocket Lab engineers, we utilise cutting-edge technology to solve challenging but exciting problems that make a huge impact in a $1.9 trillion industry. We've more than tripled our team over the last 12 months and continue to grow over the coming 12 months.
We provide a scalable digital infrastructure solution to some of the world's largest businesses and the most exciting startups. Partly's solutions are integrated across hundreds of companies globally, providing the backbone for cataloguing and managing parts online.
Backed by Blackbird (the lead investor in Canva), I2BF, and the founders of Rocket Lab, Notion, and Figma, in the largest Series A in NZ history. You’ll join a tight, ambitious team spread across New Zealand, the US, SEA and Europe and a company in Forbes Start-ups to Watch and NZ’s Best Place to Work finalists list.
We're continuing to build a world-class team and ensuring Partly is a place where people can do the best work of their lives. We're proud of the culture we've built at Partly, and our values are lived throughout every experience.
We’re looking for a flexible, product‑minded software engineer who loves wearing many hats. You’ll write production code one day; sketch wireframes the next, jump on a customer call to validate an idea, and dig into how competitors solve similar problems.
Think sales engineer meets product designer, with a bias toward building and a foundation forged in Software Engineering. If you’re curious about the full product lifecycle—and excited to shape it—you’ll thrive here.
Build & ship. Deliver mission‑critical features across our SaaS and API platform using modern TypeScript, Node, React, GraphQL, and Python (experience in any is a bonus, not a must).
Map the landscape. Reverse‑engineer workflows and turn your findings into clear, actionable product insights.
Prototype & design. Whip up low‑fi wireframes or quick Figma mocks to communicate ideas fast.
Do the research. Interview users, analyse market data, and test hypotheses alongside Product and GTM teams.
Champion the customer. Sit in on sales demos, gather feedback, and ensure every line of code pushes the product forward.
Grow like crazy. You’ll have senior mentors but plenty of autonomy. Expect to learn systems design, product strategy, and the business of software—fast.
1+ years of experience developing complex applications (Or equivalent study and work)
Degree in a related field - You’ve likely graduated with a computer science (or compatible subject) from a leading engineering school
Firmly grounded computer science and engineering fundamentals, including data structures, concurrency, architecture, APIs, testing, and design patterns.
Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills
A product mindset—you care why we’re building something, not just how.
(Bonus) Experience with automotive parts.
(Bonus) Experience with Node.js and/or Rust
Please note: if you don't have all the skills/experience listed above but believe you could be outstanding in this role, please still consider applying. Many folks, especially those from underrepresented or marginalised groups, often count themselves out. Please allow us to learn more about you and why you're exceptional!
This role can be based in any US state. Being HQ’ed in NZ, there is plenty of opportunity to travel with company-wide Season openers and annual offsite.
Competitive salary + meaningful equity.
Parental leave: 26 weeks primary, 10 days secondary, plus 4‑day weeks at full pay for 12 weeks on return.
Flexibility: Core hours, WFH days, and true ownership of your schedule.
Beautiful workspace: Sit‑stand desks, quiet pods, snacks, espresso & cold brew on tap.
Continuous growth: Monthly learning budget, mentorship from ex‑Rocket Lab engineers, and the chance to tackle green‑field problems every week.
Team connection: Monthly lunches, regular off‑sites, and a culture built on trust, candour, and getting great work done.
