Responsibilities
- The work schedule will be Monday - Friday from 8am - 5pm EST / 7am - 4pm CST **
This position is responsible for providing multi-faceted assistance designed to improvement performance in the arenas of correct coding and coding/billing compliance.
Primary position responsibilities:
- Answer coding questions from Coding teammates.
- Provide educational teleconferences on correct coding.
- Write educational material on correct coding and assist with Coding presentations at annual Coding team meeting.
- Review facility coding denials and assist with the appeal of coding denials.
- Provide physician education and physician queries.
- Perform other specialized audits to monitor compliance with standards and regulations.
- Assist with management of data related to performance and performance improvement.
Secondary position responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one coding education as needed.
- Assist with special projects related to coding and compliance.
- Assist with Center audits.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Licenses or Certificates:
Must have: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and/or Certified Ambulatory Surgery Center Coder (CASCC).
Required work experience (minimum requirements of candidate):
- Must have at least 3 years experience with multi-specialty ASC Coding.
