Job description

VERB is a digital marketing agency located in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia. Our global clients offer the opportunity to work and collaborate with some of the world’s biggest destinations, resorts, and travel brands—and with our employee travel credit, it’s easy to experience them for yourself. We take a balanced approach to work/life and have fun at the office– or wherever we happen to be working from. We are passionate about exceeding expectations and we thrive on jobs other agencies might find too big, or too difficult, or too fast

Sound good? Great, here’s who we’re looking for…

We’re looking for a creative and detail-oriented Video Editor + Animator to join our Creative Services team. This intermediate-level role is perfect for someone who brings storytelling to life through engaging motion design, crisp video editing, and creative experimentation. You’ll collaborate closely with marketing and content teams to craft compelling visuals across a range of media — from social campaigns, animated instructional videos and long-form brand stories; and everything in between.

What You Will Do

  • Edit short- and long-form video content for paid social, organic content, and brand storytelling.
  • Design and animate motion graphics that elevate content — including typography, transitions, infographics, and visual effects.
  • Develop brand-specific motion styles (think: pacing, transitions, graphic treatments) in collaboration with creative leads.
  • Support storyboarding, scripting, and pre-production planning for video shoots (when applicable).
  • Bring creative concepts to life from ideation to execution, sometimes from scratch and sometimes with existing assets.
  • Manage and organize creative assets, ensuring all files are properly sourced, tracked, and optimized.
  • Stay up to date with emerging design trends, tools, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain a high standard of quality across all creative output, ensuring brand consistency and visual excellence.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in video editing, motion design, or related roles.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and Photoshop).
  • Strong eye for design, motion, pacing, and sound.
  • Ability to think conceptually and translate abstract ideas into engaging visuals.
  • Experience with social-first video formats and platform-specific requirements (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
  • Great communication and collaboration skills — you’re comfortable taking feedback and running with it.
  • Bonus points for experience in Figma, 3D animation tools, or sound editing.

Benefits

Our benefits are anything but basic, with vacation time available on day one (not to mention an extra bonus week during the holidays), an annual travel credit (for non-work related travel), and free office snacks and drinks to keep you energized when you’re around.

In addition, we offer the following and are consistently looking for new ways to enhance the benefits we offer to our team:

  • 80% premium share option for Group Health Insurance (medical, dental, vision), with a health spending account to top up your claims
  • A healthy living account
  • Company matching RRSP program
  • Top up for Parental/Pregnancy leave
  • Remote and flexible work arrangements
  • Transit and fitness discounts
  • Recreational sports teams
  • Learning and development opportunities with a multitude of resources
  • Internal recognition programs
