Job description

Role Summary

The US Oncology Customer Engagement Platform Strategy and Enablement Lead aims to build a powerful commercial engine to drive growth in the Oncology Business Unit. Reporting directly to the SVP, US Customer Engagement Platform Lead for Oncology, this role is a key member of the US Oncology CEP Leadership Team, providing strategic, analytical, and operational support to over 900 customer-facing colleagues across sales, account management, diagnostics, and provider contracts.

Leading a team of experts, this position delivers strategic insights to empower decision-making and operational enablement for initiatives across Sales and the OAG teams supporting 14+ Oncology brands. The team focuses on optimizing efforts and collaborating with the teams like the CMO to help CFCs achieve their revenue and customer experience goals. Key areas of support include Launch Planning, CFC Deployment, Customer Targeting, CRM/Veeva, SMART/PinPoint, Account Planning, Incentive Compensation, Promotions, Training, Meetings, Centris, Connexus, and Congress Support.

This role ensures seamless collaboration and efficient governance across CFC leadership, marketing teams, and the CMO, aligning with the Oncology therapeutic areas' LT and CEP LT vision. The team addresses day-to-day strategic, operational, and analytic needs, focusing on long-term strategies to enhance field organization effectiveness and impact. They work with various stakeholders to advance organizational productivity and improve operational infrastructure, platforms, and resources.

Additionally, these individual shares business operations responsibilities, managing the US CEP leadership team, ensuring effective meetings, and fostering a solid culture aligned with Pfizer’s purpose and values. Collaboration includes annual communications plans, town halls, recognition, and survey action planning.

Accountable for completing business-critical projects and initiatives, this role provides regular updates to senior CEP leaders and works closely with key partner functions like Commercial Operations, People Experience, Compliance, Portfolio Acceleration, MEETs Team, and Training. External relationships with co-promote partners and the Strategy and Analytics Cross-Commercial Group are vital for developing and implementing broad-based strategies applicable to all commercial groups, ensuring progress against timelines and meeting key milestones.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Insights

  • Generate insights on the business that informs the priorities for the organization.
  • Leads team that analyzes, and reviews data and strategic account prioritization plans for key Oncology accounts.
  • Leads all strategic operational and portfolio activities across the U.S. Oncology Field Organization including deployment and integrations.
  • Responsible for overseeing, organizing, and facilitating all cross-brand national sales operational matters, including Incentive Compensation (IC), National/POA meetings, Training, Compliance, and BT, as well as other operational areas.
  • Leads cross-functional team to rapidly operationalize field organizational structure needs as the business continuously evolves, e.g. integrations, field force expansions and realignments
  • Coordinates alignment and discussion of cross commercial group communication for the CEP organization (CEP Lead, 4 National Sales Directors s, and Oncology Account Group Lead)

Commercial Priorities

  • Lead and develop a team of 5 direct reports.
  • Collaborate on commercial strategies with enterprise to unlock collective advantage and achieve joint strategic goals.
  • Represents US Oncology operations in various cross-enterprise customer facing initiatives.
  • Work with Oncology Portfolio Acceleration on key business insights and commercial strategies to innovate and create and assess business development opportunities.
  • Serve as a connection point with CEP enablement leads and CMO.
  • Support new product launch initiatives for CFC targeted deployment recommendations as well as product tradeoffs to inform Leaders of tradeoffs.
  • Identify, innovate, implement, and sustain culture initiatives and capabilities development in partnership with Sales leadership and new Leadership Training Team
  • Leads Director of Operations Training to Support on-boarding of new CFCs as it relates to all Oncology specific platforms, local coordination, communication and pull-through on account projects with the cross-functional account teams. 

Resource Allocation

  • Budget Tracking to ensure CEP alignment to plan
  • Leads Op Planning, providing organization, structure and relevant data to help inform decision making.
  • Actively manages and leads Directors to manage respective Oncology CEP expenses and budget.
  • Contributes to resource allocation decisions.
  • Manages Award Trips Planning Administration and Execution with Director of meeting planning.

CFC Effectiveness and Enablement

  • Support new product launch readiness.
  • Provide critical inputs to internal and external communications by leading the CFC Director of communications, IC and BT. Partner with communications specialist as required in developing and implementing comms strategies to ensure clarity and consistency of communications.
  • Liaises with legal, compliance and governance on processes and issues. Direct and Indirect Leadership.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Position requires at least 15 years of experience in US pharmaceutical, Biotech, or consultant experience in sales and/or marketing (or like functions), with demonstrated success working collaboratively across different parts of the organization.
  • 1st line supervisory experience required
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Demonstrated success in a highly fast-paced setting managing a team of diverse colleagues in multi-disciplinary positions.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate across Pfizer to achieve BU objectives.
  • Proactive self-starter with comfort working autonomously.
  • Documented ability to lead innovation and develop partnerships to build on business opportunities and organizational capabilities.
  • Strong project and program management skills, including change leadership Must have proven ability to manage complex situations in a matrix organizational structure through the participation in or leadership of cross-functional teams, together with strong team membership skills. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to lead through influence.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent follow-through and highly communicative style required. 
  • Demonstrated business acumen and strategic thinking abilities Comfortable working with Senior Leaders; competence in developing senior leadership presentations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2nd line leadership preferred
  • MBA preferred, 5 years of experience in operations, analytics, and leading organizational strategy strongly preferred.
  • Direct work experience within the Oncology therapeutic area and US Oncology organization preferred, due to need to work cross functionally across many different parts of that business.
  • Experience working with Organized customers such as Payer, GPO, SPP, IDN, NCI Centers
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $204,700.00 to $341,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
