Job Description:

We are excited to be on the hunt for a talented and motivated individual to join our team as an Esports News Writer. 

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, timely news coverage across major esports titles and leagues and emerging scenes. You’ll work closely with editors and SEO specialists to ensure content is both engaging and optimised for reach. 

Responsibilities:

• Write timely, accurate, and compelling news articles focused on major esports games, events, and players.
• Track breaking stories and trends across Reddit, X (formerly Twitter), Discord, Twitch, YouTube, and community hubs.
• Collaborate with editorial and SEO teams to identify high-impact story angles and meet audience demand.
• Maintain a deep understanding of competitive esports ecosystems, schedules, and key personalities.
• Build and nurture relationships with industry contacts including teams, players, coaches, and tournament organisers.

Qualifications:

• 2 or more years journalistic experience with at least 1 year reporting on the Esports industry
• Knowledge of the Esports industry and key entities in primary locations(US, UK, Canada).
• Bachelors in Journalism, Communications, or similar degree or experience
• A track record of creating timely, accurate, and insightful news
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• English as a primary language
• Organised, self-motivated, and results-oriented with a strong work ethic
• Meticulous attention to detail through proofreading and editing skills
