Job description

The expected salary range for this position is $78,220.00 - $97,760.00. Employees in specific high cost of labor locations in the United States (such as San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA) may qualify for a geographic differential. As a DevOps Specialist II, you will implement, grow, and mature our DevOps and Quality Assurance practices through people, process, and technology. This includes demonstrated implementation and understanding of moderately complex technical practices. At this career level, the incumbent generally works independently to implement and mature continuous integration, automated test-driven practices, release automation, infrastructure as code, quality assurance automation, instrumentation and monitoring, and integrated tool chain management. This specialist may work as a team member on larger projects and may coach other specialists.

What will you do?

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion's ministry in prayer.

  • Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ's mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion's Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion's internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.

  • Administers and maintains development and collaboration applications, including user management, system configuration, and integration between tools.

  • Matures DevOps disciplines and champions the lean agile mindset regarding issues such as Test Driven Development, flow, and systems thinking.

  • Designs and implements test automation frameworks and quality gates within CI/CD pipelines.

  • Continually improves integration of infrastructure build with application deployment processes, focusing on quality and reliability.

  • Troubleshoots technical problems relating to information systems and application quality as they arise.

  • Analyzes, designs, and evaluates automation scripts, testing frameworks, and deployment systems.

  • Implements and maintains monitoring and alerting systems to ensure reliability and performance of applications.

  • Researches new technologies that will be efficient, effective, and highly scalable for both operations and quality assurance.

  • May provide expertise to other professionals and support staff in DevOps practices.

What do you bring?

  • Experience with application administration for development and collaboration tools

  • Experience with Python development and automation

  • Experience with JavaScript development

  • Strong test automation experience and software testing knowledge

  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines

  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools and practices

  • Working knowledge of monitoring, alerting, and observability tools

  • Ability to present and demonstrate coded solutions

  • Experience with Agile methodologies, preferably Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprise (SAFe)

  • Basic understanding of microservices architecture

  • Knowledge of quality assurance best practices and test-driven development

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field*
