Job description

Are you ready for a Game-Changing Career Experience?

Join us in shaping the future of esports and gaming! If you're ready to lead, innovate, and inspire, we want to hear from you.

At EFG (ESL FACEIT Group), we create worlds beyond gameplay where players and fans become a community. We pride ourselves in having a corporate social responsibility: "IT’S NOT GG UNTIL IT’S GG FOR ALL”. Our passion, craft, and DNA are aligned to create and shape the world of esports, gaming tournaments, leagues, events, and holistic ecosystems through our millions of players, fans, and heroes, as well as through our people and culture.

The Head of People Services is a high-impact leadership role responsible for delivering seamless, tech-driven, and scalable HR services across Payroll, HR Operations, Systems, Mobility, and Advisory. This role is critical in building a high-performance service model that ensures efficiency, automation, and a frictionless employee experience.

This leader will focus on technology-enabled solutions, operational excellence, and continuous improvement, ensuring that People Services supports a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment. Reporting to the VP of PC&S, the role partners closely with Finance, Legal, IT, and HR teams to drive system and process transformation, while leading a team of HR Advisory, Payroll & Operations, HR Systems experts and Workplace Experience.

We are looking for an operations and technology leader, not necessarily from an HR background, who has successfully scaled global service functions, complex operations, or systems transformation in a fast-moving tech-driven company.

The ideal candidate will be based in the CET time zone (+/- 1 hour). This position reports directly to our VP of People, Culture & Sustainability.

What You’ll Do:
  • Build and lead a high-performance People Services function, delivering fast, intuitive, and automated HR processes at scale.
  • Oversee four key service areas:
    • HR Advisory Services – Providing employees and managers with fast, accurate, and technology-enabled support on policies, benefits, and employment matters.
    • Payroll & Operations – Ensuring seamless payroll execution, compliance, and automation for a global workforce.
    • HR Systems & Technology – Managing and optimizing HR platforms, AI-driven self-service tools, and workflow automation.
    • Workplace Experience teams - Ensuring a seamless experience for employees that do choose to go to the workplace.
  • Design and implement next-generation HR technology solutions, ensuring a high degree of automation and seamless user experiences.
  • Streamline and automate key HR processes, such as onboarding, employment verification, and compliance reporting, to improve speed and accuracy.
  • Ensure payroll runs flawlessly, integrating with finance and tax systems while optimizing for scalability.
  • Oversee global mobility and workforce flexibility, ensuring smooth relocation, visa/work permit processes, and compliance for remote employees.
  • Use data-driven insights to drive process improvements, monitor trends, and continuously refine People Services offerings.
  • Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to implement automation, chatbots, and self-service tools that reduce HR friction.
  • Build a culture of operational excellence, applying lean methodologies, process optimization, and tech-driven solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Establish clear KPIs and performance metrics to track success and ensure service improvements over time.

Requirements

What You’ll Bring:
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in operations, service delivery, technology transformation, or complex business processes (HR background not required).
  • Proven expertise in process automation, data analytics, and building scalable service models in a high-growth environment.
  • Experience leading large, high-volume operations with a focus on speed, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Deep understanding of HR technology, automation tools, and AI-driven employee self-service platforms.
  • Strong systems thinking mindset, with the ability to drive innovation and efficiency across multiple functions.
  • Track record of implementing technology-driven solutions to improve user experience and operational performance.
  • Experience working in tech-driven, fast-scaling environments, ideally in technology, SaaS, or platform-based businesses.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership experience, working with IT, Finance, Legal, and People teams to build effective, scalable solutions.
  • Data-driven decision-making approach, with the ability to track KPIs and optimize workflows in real time.
  • Exceptional leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on scaling operations and delivering an outstanding employee experience.
  • Fluent in English (spoken & written); additional languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for global operations reviews and strategic initiatives.
