We are seeking a Data Strategist focused on Data Governance to oversee the implementation of data governance frameworks for our clients. This role involves working closely with organizations to ensure they meet regulatory requirements, establish data quality standards, and promote data stewardship across their operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of data governance principles and methodologies, along with the ability to influence and guide stakeholders at all levels.
Responsibilities:
Data Governance Framework Development:
Design and implement comprehensive data governance frameworks tailored to client needs, encompassing data quality, privacy, security, compliance, and stewardship.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with key stakeholders, including data owners, IT, and business units, to establish data governance policies and procedures.
Compliance Monitoring:
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and industry standards by conducting regular audits and assessments.
Training and Awareness:
Develop and deliver training programs to enhance data governance awareness and literacy among client staff.
Performance Metrics:
Establish metrics and KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of data governance initiatives and report findings to stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify and recommend improvements to data governance practices based on changing regulations, industry trends, and client feedback.
Documentation:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data governance policies, procedures, and standards.
Soft Skills:
Anticipating: You can be a brilliant strategist if you can predict a result or a possibility. Anticipation allows you to be proactive and fast in the face of entropy. You need to improve your capacity to zoom out and view the broader picture as well. Strategists look at things from many angles, which is why you need to zoom in and out.
Challenging: You must be willing to question the current quo.
Interpreting: A smart strategist knows how to read people's behaviors and responses to figure out what to do next.
Deciding: Your capacity to make choices should be based on comprehensive knowledge rather than educated guesses
Aligning: Outline your ideas in a compelling way to align your proposal with suitable partners. Knowing when to meet with a competitor and how to pitch your market are critical skills.
Learning: Constantly eager to learn, excellent listening skills
Balance: Combining agility with consistency is the greatest approach to be strategic.
Persuading: The ability to effectively communicate your ideas and inspire others is crucial. You should be skilled in using logic, emotion, and credibility to persuade stakeholders and gain their support for your initiatives.
Requirements for this challenge:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Solid experience in data governance and data management.
Experience working with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Proficiency in data governance tools and technologies such as Unity Catalog, Purview and/or Alation
Fluency in English Communication
Nice to Have:
Certifications in Data Governance or related areas.
Experience in project management and change management methodologies.
Knowledge of emerging trends in data governance and data privacy.
Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese.
