Job description

This is a remote position.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm Burleigh time-zone (40 hours per week)



Position Title: Talent and Roster Coordinator
Reports To: Human Resources Manager
Reach: National


Responsibilities

Planning

  • Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance practice, e.g., frontline care and client outcomes through improved recruitment and training initiatives.

  • Deliver timely recruitment support that meets client and funding needs.

Leadership & Coordination

  • Actively participate in the formation and review of attendant care and support worker policy, standards, and practices.

  • Contribute to the development and continual improvement of policy, procedure, and process.

Recruiting Excellent Staff

  • Lead support-worker recruitment, liaising with the Manager and HR to deliver effective advertising campaigns.

  • Continually review applications, proactively screening and interviewing candidates promptly.

  • Undertake reference and certification checks, identifying gaps and training needs.

  • Make ‘role offer’ recommendations of high-quality candidates to HR and the Hiring Manager, providing all necessary paperwork to HR.

  • Provide recruitment support as requested for other areas.

  • Coordinate people resources efficiently to ensure effective scheduling of client services within budget, time, and approval constraints.

Training Highly Skilled People

  • Deliver learning needs assessments for staff and prepare source tailored educational opportunities.

  • Continually improve induction training programs.

  • Deliver care- and client-centred induction training and onboarding initiatives for support workers and nursing staff (e.g., formal training, buddy shifts).

  • Provide daily troubleshooting and support for staff as needed.

  • Identify and recommend suitable external training providers and courses as necessary.

  • Encourage and motivate staff to participate in learning and development opportunities.

Roster Support

  • Prepare regular rosters and shift schedules using the staff roster platform.

  • Publish support work shifts and nursing appointments at least four weeks in advance.

  • Ensure all shifts have been accepted by staff at least one week in advance.

  • Identify urgent shift cover for unexpected staff absences and leave, and communicate any staff changes in a timely and appropriate manner to clients and other stakeholders.

  • Develop contingency plans for unexpected staff shortages due to illness, emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances.

  • Communicate roster changes to clients and their care team as required.

  • Schedule staff according to client-match, availability, and training.

  • Ensure client rosters and support needs (schedule of care hours) are met.

  • Master the roster system and identify improvements.

  • Develop and update shift requirement descriptions.

  • Build effective working relationships with clients, staff, and other key stakeholders.

Workplace Health & Safety (WHS)

  • Effectively communicate with and build strong rapport with Coordinators and Managers.

  • Exercise a duty of care to ensure actions don’t negatively impact the health and/or safety of others or self in the workplace.

  • Ensure that anything provided for health and safety is not willfully or recklessly interfered with or misused.

  • Ensure compliance with WHS policies, procedures, and any reasonable instruction.



Requirements
  • Current First Aid certificate

  • Current police check, NDIS Worker Screening, and Working with Children Check

  • Substantial experience in spinal injury/wound/disability/community support work.

  • Demonstrated capacity to lead positively and effectively.

  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering training and upskilling initiatives.

  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering consumer-led care services.

  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to promote service development and business growth.
