Job Overview

We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual for the position of Manager Medical Business Operations, Biopharma.  This individual will work within Women’s Health, Urology and Rare Disease.

This individual will report to the Sr. Director, Medical Business Operations, working to maximize the performance and impact of the business.  This role will anticipate, identify, understand, engage in, and support effective prioritization of issues and opportunities across the MA organization and ensure resolution and implementation in a timely and effective manner.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Key responsibilities in the following areas:

  • Operational Management Leadership:
    • Work to ensure operational efficiency within biopharma medical affair asset teams
    • Manage meeting agendas and actively support Medical Affairs Scientific Teams (MAST) and Global Medical Affairs Meetings (GMAM) through scheduling, participation, and slide generation
    • This includes fit for purpose attendance, decision-oriented agendas, capture, tracking and follow up of action items and working with the appropriate colleague(s) to ensure seamless planning and logistics
    • Leading special projects, strategic partner to medical affair strategy teams and seek out and apply learnings for greater efficiency or faster impact and ensuring effective use of resources by maximizing the use of matrixed and enabling function teams
    • Provide strategic and operations support to the medical strategy teams
  • Leadership & Team Management:
    • Help address and coordinate resolution of requests from various stakeholders
    • Partner cross-functionally with enabling internal functions and networks, while also partnering externally, as needed, to deliver insights and initiatives.
  • Finance and Budget Management:
    • Manage budgets, ensuring alignment, accruals, with financial targets and providing monthly updates to senior leadership.
    • Collaborate with finance for accurate financial reporting and accrual management.
    • Support contract management
  • Strategy and Program support:
    • Partner with alliances on strategic initiatives per agreed on strategy and tactics
    • Manage project life cycle, ensuring on-time and budget-compliant delivery
    • Keep stakeholders informed about project risks, issues, and necessary changes.
    • Provide strategic and tactical input to sub-teams on their medical activities (as needed)
  • Process Improvement:
    • Uphold project management best practices.
    • Maintain effective tracking systems and identify areas for process improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce bottlenecks.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

 Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry with BS/MS/PhD in related life science discipline
  • Advanced degree strongly preferred

The base salary range for this role is $123,700 to $154,600.    Base salary is part of our total rewards package which also includes the opportunity for merit-based salary increases, short incentive plan participation, eligibility for our 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances and leaves provided in line with your work state.  Our robust time-off policy includes flexible paid time off, 11 paid holidays plus additional time off for a shut-down period during the last week of December, 80 hours of paid sick time upon hire and each year thereafter.  Total compensation, including base salary to be offered, will depend on elements unique to each candidate, including candidate experience, skills, education and other factors permitted by law.
