Overview

 

The Director, Tax Accounting will lead our tax accounting and reporting function within Foundever.

 

This pivotal role, reporting directly to the Vice President of Global Tax, will drive innovation in our processes and enhance our team's efficiency, accuracy, and professional development. The Director, Tax Accounting oversees all aspects of income tax accounting for the company's annual and interim financial statements, managing U.S. and international operations across 45+ countries.

 

This role involves preparing income tax provisions, collaborating with various Directors, Finance teams, and executives. The Director, Tax Accounting will lead the tax components of a new ERP system implementation to enhance tax efficiencies and assist a tax manager with U.S. compliance, planning, and audits while working with an international tax team on foreign matters. Tax compliance is primarily outsourced or co-sourced with a long-term Big 4 accounting firm.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the determination and reporting of all aspects of tax information in the financial statements and related disclosures.
  • Serves as the primary interface with the Company’s Corporate Controllership and Finance leadership regarding tax accounting and financial reporting matters.
  • Collaborate closely with the external auditors with respect to the Company’s quarterly and annual tax provision processes (primarily annual).
  • Oversees ongoing maintenance and efficient use of Thomson Reuters OneSource Income Tax Provision – and will evaluate alternative tools as a part of the ERP systems implementation (e.g., One Stream).
  • Responsible for budgeting and forecasting income cash tax and rates and for the Company’s global operations. 
  • Partner with controllers and corporate planning teams to ensure that forecasts, budgets and long-term plans accurately reflect the Company’s current tax posture.
  • Provide support for federal, state, and foreign income compliance, analysis and planning, tax audits and examinations (primarily US).
  • Establish and implement processes and procedures to meet internal control requirements for the department.
  • Ensure that established processes and procedures are executed as designed.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions with regard to department internal controls as necessary.
Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required; a graduate tax degree (MST/LLM) is preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly desirable.
  • 10-15 years of tax experience, ideally gained at either a large public accounting firm or within a large corporate organization.
  • Strong background in ASC 740, with familiarity in IFRS considered an asset.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing a tax team, fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.
  • Experience and familiarity with ERP systems, like OneSource or similar tax provision software.
  • Proven expertise across various tax types and the ability to navigate complex tax issues involving past, present and future considerations and consequences.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills to identify issues and develop/implement practical solutions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities, coupled with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to effectively advocate for the Company and interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.

Salary Range

 

The base pay range for this position in the United States is $160,000.00- $170,000.00 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, education, skills, and experience.  In addition, this role is eligible for a 30% pro-rated annual incentive opportunity.
