We are actively recruiting for a Grants Consultant who will support grant management for a community-based nonprofit grant program, including the oversight and management of 95 Colorado nonprofit grantees. The Grants Consultant will play a critical role in supporting the program by managing the performance and reporting of 95 Colorado nonprofit grantees, working closely with two ASI Grant Managers who are leading the overarching, high-visibility $35M state grants program.

Responsibilities:

Grant Program Management & Compliance:

  • Bring deep expertise in the design, administration, and management of grant programs.
  • Ensure grant activities meet federal guidelines and requirements, including interpreting and applying regulations (e.g., 2 CFR 200).
  • Manage the collection, review, and analysis of quarterly financial and programmatic reports from 95 grantee organizations.
  • Monitor grantee expenditures and review quarterly reports for compliance, ensuring adherence to budgets and assisting with corrections when necessary 
  • Oversee contract amendments and support grantee project closeout, ensuring all spending and reporting are complete and in compliance with federal guidelines
  • Compile and analyze grant data to track program outcomes and impact.
  • Develop and implement best practices for grant management and reporting.
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure alignment between grant reporting and program goals.
  • Employ project management best practices to guide and track program initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, risk management, grant/contract closeout, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Lead ongoing capture and tracking of meeting notes, actions, and decisions.
  • Drive critical project actions forward on behalf of the client.

Grantee Relationship Management & Support:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for grantees, developing strong relationships to address reporting requirements, provide technical assistance, answer questions, and resolve ongoing concerns
  • Provide clear and timely communication to grantees through email, phone, and in-person meetings.
  • Develop and facilitate grantee training workshops, webinars, and resources to ensure understanding of program requirements, best practices, and federal reporting standards.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university in a related field. 
  • Five to seven years of demonstrated experience providing grant management for municipal, state, or federal agencies, institutions of higher learning, or philanthropic foundations, including designing, implementing, managing, and evaluating grants.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit financial documents and compliance with GAAP standards
  • Proven experience managing multiple grant recipients to ensure grant outcomes are achieved across grantees. 
  • Experience working with and/or providing grant management support for small-to-medium sized nonprofits
  • Client-facing experience to include supporting client status meetings, follow-up with clients on next steps, and writing crisp and clear client communications.  

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 1-2 years of management consulting experience 
  • Master’s Degree and/or Project Management certification
  • Familiarity with Colorado’s nonprofit sector and current grant trends

LOCATION: 100% Remote 

DESIRED START DATE:  ASAP 

PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: May 1st, 2025-April 30, 2026, with potential to extend, combined with expected growth on our State and Local grants management work (i.e. North Carolina, Colorado growth opportunities).
