Job description

We are looking for OSP Permit Specialists in the Engineering Department to manage and coordinate all aspects of the permitting process for telecommunications infrastructure projects all around the US.

As a key member of our engineering department, the OSP Permit Specialist will contribute to our initiatives' success by permitting, overseeing the permit process, and facilitating efficient project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Anticipate and schedule permits to avoid project delays;
  • Resolve issues promptly to ensure project stays on schedule;
  • Research and gather data to support project team scheduling;
  • Serve as liaison to ensure timely and accurate submission of permit applications;
  • Follow up on pending issues to ensure task completion, both internally and externally;
  • Coordinate with permitting agencies to adjust applications and resolve issues;
  • Develop plans, timelines, and schedules for permits from initiation through approval;
  • Conduct quality control of permit drafts, plan sets, and pole sheets;
  • Manage large volume Joint Use Pole permit submittals and track progress via permit portals (NJUNs, SPANS, Alden One).

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a permit specialist in the utilities industry;
  • Knowledge of utility regulations, codes, and standards, NESC, Municipal codes;
  • Knowledge Joint Use practices;
  • Proficiency in KMZs, Smartsheets, Excel;
  • Proficiency in using software tools for tracking, mapping and managing permits and project functions;
  • Ability to adapt to change and work within a diverse team environment.
