At PetPlace, an IPH company, we are building a digital first pet e-commerce platform with the aim of connecting key market services such as adoption, lost pet and insurance to make pet care easy.

Location: Remote - Chicago, New York, or Scottsdale preferred

As a Technical Program Director, through coordinating with multiple teams and stakeholders, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the re-platforming program. This program will deliver a scalable, automated, and secure cloud environment, to enable the business to execute on its strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects within defined scope, quality, time, and cost requirements.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand their needs and align cloud solutions.
  • Working alongside Project Manager, develop and manage program schedules, identifying risks, and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on program status regularly to ensure project deliverables are on time and within budget.
  • Resolve technical and operational problems within the given project scope.
  • Interface with delivery teams, internal and external, to estimate work efforts, define milestones and manage resources.
  • Engage with external partners and vendors to deliver the projects under re-platforming program.
  • Communicate regularly with senior management regarding the status of projects.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and expectations by developing a communication process to keep others up-to-date on project results.
  • Identify and escalate potential issues or risks that could affect the successful delivery of the program
  • Ensure adherence to established standards and methodologies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and quality.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Should have strong technical background as well as knowledge of modern workspace Software-as-a-Service solutions and Cloud Hosting Services (preferably Microsoft Azure).
  • Strong background in Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Additional skills in project management.
  • Proven ability to design, optimize and integrate business processes across disparate systems.
  • Agile Development Methodology & Application Development best practices.
  • Experience with building data platforms and leverage data to enhance systems, customer interaction, engagement, etc.
  • Excellent analysis skills and the ability to develop processes and methodologies.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, monitor, and respond to inquiries quickly.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong external vendor and internal stakeholder communication skills—both written and spoken.
  • Ability to organize project collateral and track task status.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related disciplines is required. Master's or higher in IT-related field strongly preferred.
  • At least 10 years in roles including software/solution architecture or technical leadership.
  • 10+ years’ experience in an IT field.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce, manipulate, implement or enhance Enterprise Architecture concepts, roadmaps, principles and effective strategies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in Application and Data Architecture.
