The Opportunity
Everyday Health Group is seeking a Senior Director, Business Intelligence to join our Pregnancy & Parenting division. In this role, you will report to the EVP/General Manager and be responsible for providing strategic insights to key stakeholders across the organization via comprehensive analyses and reporting. This role will support the generation and attainment of audience and revenue goals for our global portfolio of brands—including BabyCenter, What to Expect and Emma’s Diary—by translating raw data into actionable business insights. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of leveraging data insights and trends to inform business strategy and improve performance outcomes, collaborating with a broad stakeholder group at all levels of the organization.
In this role, you will:
Lead a team of data analysts responsible for the functional design and delivery of key analytics solutions and products
Define company KPIs in partnership with the P&P leadership team, leading the ongoing measurement of performance against goals and delivering insights to refine a holistic multi-channel digital media strategy across web, app, email and social media
Evaluate and develop sustainable frameworks for effective BI reporting, leveraging data sets from multiple sources in the service of augmenting audience retention and engagement, refining editorial content strategy, consumer product development and optimization, affiliate commerce revenue performance, and more
Measure the impact of new growth initiatives and products, defining and monitoring KPI performance and providing executive leadership regular analysis alongside recommendations for ongoing optimization
Partner with the Research & Insights team to deliver market analysis and provide commercial teams with go-to-market intelligence on P&P’s audience and engagement metrics
Collaborate closely with the Data Engineering and Data Science teams, ensuring alignment of technical data systems to enable streamlined data collection and retrieval, as well as partner to manage data analytics investment and budget
Act as a key contributor to the annual business planning and budget development process
Evangelize the power of data-driven decision making across the multi-functional organization
Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies & analytical solutions to increase reporting output and accuracy
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in a data analytics or data science role, with a minimum of 5 years of management experience
Strong problem-solving aptitude with an ability to define practical and scalable approaches to data analysis and reporting; ideal candidate has digital media experience across consumer web and mobile app platforms
Extensive experience developing business intelligence solutions leveraging both modern and traditional data architectures (ex. data lakes, NoSQL databases, cloud databases, relational databases)
Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate partnership across a global multi-functional organization
Fluency in data architecture systems design and development, as well as the implementation of workflow-enabled solutions
Experience with a variety of different analytics platforms including Google Analytics and Looker, as well as familiarity with AWS, Redshift MySQL, DynamoDB, and Google BigQuery
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related field; equivalent work experience also considered
