The role

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with deep Information Technology expertise to drive innovation and operational excellence. This role ensures our systems remain scalable, secure, and efficient, directly supporting our mission to deliver high-quality technology services to support our organization.

Your day-to-day
  • Lead IT projects with strong project management skills, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Oversee and optimize IT collaboration tools, migrations, and deployments, providing strategic input on system design and performance.
  • Drive continuous improvements, building cross-team relationships, and make informed trade-offs to enhance IT operations.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce IT policies, systems, and procedures that align with our business objectives.
  • Apply technical expertise to company-wide initiatives, solving complex challenges with innovative solutions.
  • Ensure system reliability, security, and performance by providing responsive production support.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed.
About you
  • 6 - 8 years of enterprise IT experience specializing in mobile device management (MDM) and user access management.
  • Expertise in macOS, Windows, and mobile device management solutions (e.g., JAMF, Kolide).
  • Skilled in overseeing identity and access management with Okta/SAML, RBAC, and cloud applications (G Suite, Slack, GitLab, Atlassian Suite).
  • Proficient in developing and automating IT services using Shell, Python, Terraform, and no-code solutions to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Experienced in network troubleshooting, including IPSec, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, WiFi, and 802.1x.
  • Experience in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, Sprints), contributing to iterative improvements in IT operations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work autonomously while maintaining a collaborative and customer-focused approach.
  • Committed to ensuring system reliability and security through proactive resolution of technical challenges.
  • Focused on delivering high-impact IT solutions while prioritizing security, data integrity, and compliance with best practices.

Salary: $165,000 to $220,000*

*Please note that the final salary offered will be determined based on the selected candidate's skills, and experience, as well as the internal salary structure at Quanata. Our aim is to offer a competitive and equitable compensation package that reflects the candidate's expertise and contributions to our organization.

  • Work from Home Equipment: Given our virtual environment— in order to set you up for success at home, a one-time payment of $2K will be provided to cover the purchase of in-home office equipment and furniture at your discretion. Also, our teams work with MacBook Pros, which we will deliver to you fully provisioned prior to your first day.
  • Paid Time Off: All employees accrue four weeks of PTO in their first year of employment.  New parents receive twelve weeks of fully paid parental leave which may be taken within one year after the birth and/or adoption of a child. The twelve weeks is applicable to both birthing and non-birthing parent.

  • Location: We are a remote-first company for most positions so you may work from anywhere you like in the U.S, excluding U.S. territories. For most positions, occasional travel may be requested or encouraged but is not required. Some positions might require travel per the job description provided to the employee. Employees based in the San Francisco Bay Area or in Providence, Rhode Island may commute to one of our local offices as desired.  
  • Hours: We maintain core meeting hours from 9AM - 2PM Pacific time for collaborating with team members across all time zones. 
  • On Call Requirement: This role requires participation in an on-call rotation. This involves being available to respond to system alerts and other urgent issues outside of normal business hours.
