Location:  This role will be covering RIAs across the entire country so no preference on location.

Overview of the role:

This role focuses on the largest RIA Aggregators across the country, particularly those with centralized models. The primary responsibility is to generate centralized model wins with Mega RIAs (such as Captrust, Creative Planning, Savant, Pathstone, Beacon Pointe, among others) and secure availability for Hartford Funds to be purchased by advisors who do not use their centralized model for geographic coverage.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Understanding Hartford Funds mission and values
  • Increase sales and grow territory AUM in a very competitive marketplace by calling the top 25-30 Mega RIA Aggregators around the country
  • Partner with the RIA Sales consultants to maximize the coverage model for a complex universe of RIA’s
  • Engaging in all aspects of client servicing and ensuring accurate and timely completion of client requests
  • Coordinating client due diligence and prospecting meetings, including preparation with senior portfolio managers and development of presentation books
  • Liaising with internal business units, including Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Product Development to communicate partner firm updates and initiatives.
  • Performing administrative tasks such as phone coverage, correspondence, and database maintenance
  • Partner with the RIA sales consultants to develop and maintain relationships with key national accounts in an effort to promote our brand within the marketplace, increase platform exposure and thereby produce sales.
  • Manage all aspects of client activity including coordinating investment strategy review meetings, preparing marketing and prospecting presentations, communicating firm updates/changes, performing sales and performance analysis, and completing client reporting and ad hoc client requests.
  • Acts as a liaison with all the various internal departments involved in supporting the accounts, including Sales, Marketing, Operations and Legal/Compliance.
  • Interact extensively with senior investment professionals throughout the firm.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Hartford Funds investment strategies, services, procedures, and policies.

Qualifications: 

  • Five years of mutual funds or financial services industry experience is preferred
  • Investment Acumen with an interest in mastering all aspects of the retail investment management business
  • Client focused and detail oriented with a strong ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks to ensure that client requests are completed in a timely manner within timelines
  • Excellent organizational skill and time management skills required to successfully manage the responsibilities of handling a large client base
  • Self-starter able to master all aspects of the retail investment management business
  • Independent worker capable of demonstrating initiative and good judgment.
  • Candidates should also possess strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to work independently, while also collaborating as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and leadership skills a must

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$150,000 - $200,000
