Cincinnati Re is currently seeking an individual to support the design, development and maintenance of end user reinsurance data systems, underwriting platforms, pricing tools and internal/external data reporting.This individual will collaborate with research and development colleagues, actuaries, and underwriters to build new pricing tools and improve existing ones.
Candidate must have strong database, programming, and analytical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Salary: The pay range for this position is $140,000 - $200,000.00 annually. The pay determination is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.
Be Ready To
- collaborate with reinsurance team, corporate IT and external vendors to support the design, development and maintenance of current and future underwriting/pricing platforms, database systems and tools
- build and maintain API services and Web applications for pricing algorithms
- assist with the design, development and maintenance of internal/external reinsurance data reports, including: aggregate exposure reports for catastrophe management, preparation of data for quarterly financial reporting, and preparation of submission data for retrocessional treaties
- research, develop, and apply pricing algorithms as needed
Location
- Cincinnati, OH is preferred; however remote location will be considered
- occasional travel for internal meetings (~8 trips per year)
Be Equipped With
- strong mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- ability to support and respond to multiple priorities, short deadlines and rapid turn-around times
- ability to work in a collaborative team environment, including effective listening and verbal communication skills
- familiarity with income statements and balance sheets is desirable
Bring Education And Experience From
- Bachelor’s degree, Master’s/PhD a plus
- 5+ years prior experience programing in an insurance company environment.
- actuarial experience a plus
- experience with several of the following: Python, SQL, R, VBA, Rest API, and JSON
